	GameGrep annoys me. I hate seeing articles that have little to no relation to the forum I'm in. 	Well, even if I didn't feel bad enough already for stealing from these companies, its mainly that my parents decided to change our internet provider because they thought it was getting too expensive. My mum thinks one megabyte is the biggest amount of anything known to man, and thus got the LOWEST amount of download time available. I can barely watch a video on Youtube nowadays without the timer at the bottom of the screen running down, so downloading an entire game off BitTorrent isn't exactly gonna go down well. ------------------- Slang on TP's name: quote This is obviously a fake. 	To be honest, I'd really love to show you guys my best work. The problem is, I haven't made that best work yet. I badly want to make a short, action movie, like a simple cops vs baddies film, but despite any advancements I have in technologies, that being a new video camera, new cables, new laptop with a completely new editing program, I can't get around my main hurdle, mainly to do with my location and availability, and that is actors Or preferably actors with talent. My senior media project, a short mockumentary I made about a band of Guitar Hero players, got a 100/100 and I ended up getting something like 30th in the state in the subject, but I knew it wasn't all that flash, in terms of rushed acting, losing about an hour of film, and that one major bogey, music copyrights, the main reason I couldn't submit it into the state students film festival. I only had it in one film festival, a local one... which I didn't turn up to see (mainly because I still hadn't got copyright clearances and my teacher submitted it anyway), but apparentely it did alright. But I know it had a ton of problems, ones anyone with a good eye and ear would recognise. So no, I won't be showing you any of my movies. That may change next year where I won't be doing anything else but making films, so therefore can dedicate alot more time into it, rather then this year when I had to think about my maths and english assignments as well. ------------------- Slang on TP's name: quote This is obviously a fake. 	Maybe I'll create another channel just for you guys. I'll upload some films again, but under that channel and with a different title and show you guys. There is one movie me and a buddy made two years ago which is delibrately meant to be cheesy and has gotten plenty of laughs. It actually became a sort of cult hit in my area, with a few people I barely knew or even didn't know at all come up to me telling me "that kung-fu video was funny". So maybe. I don't speak in this film, which is good. People have a lot of problems with my voice. It isn't warm at all, and lacks any real depth, so people find it hard to connect with, and people from other countries (such as Americans and Canadians) find it hard to understand. 	Its been a day of regret. I've decided I'm going to sell my Wii to a friend and buy a 360. Before I get any words of advice, I should say that I simply have a lot of good reasons. I'm just not happy with the Wii's future in general and happy with what the 360 offers, and even though I've played just about all the Wii games I wanted to play, I have a deep feeling of regret today, because I feel I may miss it. 	Well I didn't actually want to start a fight or anything, so I didn't give my reasons for trading in to get a 360. Mainly, the online setup is just better on the 360. There are more options, a better presentation and a greater feeling of a community. The graphics are better (there I said it!) and overall, I don't care what anybody might say, there ARE a greater variety of genres on the 360 (and PS3) then on the Wii. ------------------- Slang on TP's name: quote This is obviously a fake. 	That was an amusing story Jelar. I hate people like that. The thing about Anime is that is clearly has different genres, but like you said, they have themes that are similiar to other Anime's. I still love Laputa: Castle in the Sky. 	Well, everyone knows my thoughts for another Cel-shaded Zelda game. I loved Wind Waker, and I'm just playing through Phantom Hourglass right now, and I absolutely love the art style. Of course, that particular style suited the ocean setting better than a land setting, but a few adjustments in line with what Barmy mentioned and you coulds still pull off a cel-shaded Zelda game without an ocean setting if Nintendo wanted to. 	I finally saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button today. I'd reccommend seeing it with a girl, though. I went on a date today to see it, and it was a good thing I did because the whole theme of the film was the characters worrying about dying alone so it would have been weird seeing it alone. Overall, a really good film. I have to commend the make-up artists for making these actors range in age from 18 to about 80. 	Sorry to keep banging on about the fires, but if you've been noticing the news, particularly the BBC and NY Times, the fires that took my home and about 1000 others has killed about 150 people around my area. This is shit. I can't wait to leave this scorched earth to go live in Melbourne in a month. There is nothing left for me in my area. With the original files deleted, the video is all that remains. And no, thats my friend Barry on the preview. I'm playing the lead guitarist, his brother, the fake director and I also wrote, directed and edited it, but I'm not the guy on the preview. But if you are going to take a look at it, watch the fnal 5 seconds after the credits. That final shot of the two guitarists are both just myself, but I took a great amount of pride in my costume differences and photoshop skills, enough for someone to believe they are two different people. 	Is anyone else excited for Inglourious Basterds? I've been waiting for months and managed to score tickets to the Australian premiere where Tarantino himself will be there to introduce it. 	I saw Inglourious Basterds twice, and saw District 9 today. It was just fantastic. I loved it, and considering its budget of around $30 Million compared to the $200 Million Transformers 2 and Terminator Salvation, it was a masterpiece of the science fiction genre. I'll put up a few of my university films in the Digital Video forum when they get finalised at the end of semester. At the moment I have a few short films almost completed, one being a 2 minute black and white film shot in 16mm called "Grim Amigos" and a 2 minute 3D animation called "Lighthouse: Desert Star", probably the most difficult film I've ever made considering my lack of experience with 3D animation software. ------------------- Slang on TP's name: quote This is obviously a fake. The copy i downloaded was pretty poor quality though, so as soon as it's out in the UK i'm going to go see it in the cinema. Then i got greedy and downloaded Inglorious Basterds, opened up the file to find instead a hardcore porn film called Pirates II Stagnetti's Revenge. Needless to say i watched it anyway. But i still need to go see Inglorious Basterds when it's out. IMO not as good as the original Pirates, but then again you have to take budget into account. Yeah, DC++ on the University network rocks if you're bored or like free everything downloaded in about 2 seconds. 	Haha, yeah, when they got introduced and they just did that stereotypical Italian hand gesture I was in tears. I would have liked to see a bit more of the actual Basterds and their back-stories (I know for sure that a back story scene of the 'Bear Jew' played by Eli Roth was cut out, but they showed the back story for Hugo Stiglitz, so I don't know why that was cut out.) For me, I really liked Jackie Brown, which, while it had violence, was more about dialogue and suspense, but I think this movie has shown Tarantino can have a movie without all action and violence in it. 	I'm going to have to agree with Barmy, Tarantino needs to utilise Sally Menke and learn how to edit. 	Good to see you again Jelar. Sounds like you're doing great since your seperation from Neo. Well, I'll probably sound like a broken record, but for those that don't know: -I'm almost finished my first year of my three year Film and Digital Media course at university. It's been a fantastic year living on res. -Still making a lot of films, have three in the works at the moment, my year 12 film got accepted into a local film festival. -Bought a 360 early this year, sold my Wii. Don't regret it for a second. -Did I mention I lost my house and all my possessions in a fire? Yeah, that happened this year. -Have a job as game tester for THQ. Mainly playing games made by Australian games developers. -Officially was sitting four rows from Quentin Tarantino at the Australian premiere of Inglourious Basterds. -Also I do part-time work on a local television station working (such as extras work, auto-cue, audio assistance) on the shows made by our university television society, some of which have been pretty successful. I honestly couldn't stand Nintendo backward-ness (despite their supposed innovations) and in the end, the Wii fetches a good price with my adult friends, especially since they had kids.
