Not really, just stay away from those big ice creatures for now until you get the ball and chain and for the snow wolfs i suggest combating them with wolf Link hes faster and can move along the snow unhindered

You have to beat the Yeti in a snowboarding race, but it's not that hard. You just got to not go too fast around the hairpin turns.
