re: TP News Drought

Not a problem.

I doubt we will get any new info for a while. They can only give us so much before we know the entire game. Look at Metroid Prime 2. Two months before the game was to be released, everyone on the Internet new every item and how to use it. I hate not having new information to discuss, but I would rather not have the game spoiled when I finally get it.

If you need to be told how to think, you don't deserve to have an opinion.

I personally am really excited about this. It totally boosts replay value and gives the Rev. an almost surefire killer app.

Booya.

re: TP News Drought

It was a rethorical question dumbass!

Also I have clear thought on how I wanna play
on the rev. I just don't picture Zelda|TP properly fit
to swing my rev controller freely and to get the proper response from the sword onscreen. And I am pretty sure that this is what Ninty is getting at. Using it as a rod is well, let's seen it, done it.

Personally I didn't like the delay on bit. It looks to me like there gonna completly milk zelda to promote the rev. And I don't know how that is gonna turn out.

I just think that zelda is gonna be great on the cube, but I don't want a cube game that can only be fully experienced by playing it on the rev.

That said I'm just critical about the thing. Where probally gonna get a full story on what's what come next month.

re: TP News Drought

This is what NOA customers service rep told me today...

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for contacting Nintendo. Unfortunately, at this time, we have not been given any indication on when we will get additional information on the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The last hint that we were given was that we shouldn't expect any information until after the first quarter (January, February, and March).

Keep checking the site on a routine basis. While we were advised that the information may be "later, rather than sooner," it could be posted at any time. We just haven't been told.

While on our site, be sure to check out the My Nintendo program. Not only does this allow you to monitor the status of a part order, repair, or a Nintendo Power subscription, it also allows you to interact with other players via the Nintendo Forums.

Thanks for your email and good luck with all your games!

Nintendo of America Inc.
Bruce Mann

If you ask me this doesn't sound very positive. I always hoped to get some news this month. I mean I am very afraid that this game is not gonna be released even in the second quarter. I am getting the distinct feeling that this game is gonna be released somewhere around the REV release. I so really hope I am wrong.

re: TP News Drought

Okay tell me what you all think about this...
Dec 4th 2002 nintendo released a press statement telling the world that Zelda | WW will be released in the US on march 24th. There are exactly 110days between the press release and the release date. Now I haven't checked up if the 110 days are a random (a coincedence) figure or that nintendo has used this buffer more often. The European shipping date for WW was the 5th of may, but that could well be because of logistics and distrubution issues. Anyways if the new zelda will ship somewhere in april Nintendo will have to announce the date this month or else I'm for one am pretty sure this game will not see storeshelves come this april. I mean be realistic nintendo is not gonna give us a release date 2 days or even 2 weeks before actual launch. They have create buzz -as in buzz among the regular population, those that are not Hyrule inhabitants like us. Maybe someone could check if the 110 days buffer is common among zelda release dates and announcements.

re: TP News Drought

I don't think that there's really much of a point going that indepth to see if the 110 days thing is a frequent occurence. Nintendo said somewhere (or maybe it was just a strong rumor) that the new Twilight Princess information would start surfacing shortly after the New Year, so if nothing comes up in the next month or so (which would be a surprise, since I really think that they ought to finally be finished this by now ), then we can assume that the release probably won't be in April. However, I'd expect that we will be hearing a press release from Nintendo extremely soon detailing the official release date. Ah well, fingers crossed guys.

re: TP News Drought

What makes you believe Nintendo would release this game the instant it is finished?

Personally I think that the first delay -adding the cool new features thing- was triggert by the higher ups in Japan who decided to definetly include the compatibility with the Rev in the game. The compatibilty with the Rev has recently been acknowledged in the press. I stongly believe that the release of this Zelda game will be a more stratigical one. Driven by business objectives more then by customer satisfaction -however satisfied we will be, be it april or may or whatsoever, this game will rock.

re: TP News Drought

Once a game is finished, it "goes gold", which means that it's prepped for launch (meaning the game is mass produced and everything) and the release is shortly after (usually one or two weeks, but it depends). I don't think Nintendo will keep us waiting any longer than they have to once the game is completely finished - they know how high the demand for this game is and I don't think they'd halt the release any longer than they absolutely have to.
