Who Wants to be a Millionaire [V2]
|
Judges can ask questions about the game. Questions can relate to any Pokemon related thing up to the R/S/F/L series and no further. Any questions to do with a specific part of the game may only be about Fire red. Leaf green is slightly different.
Judges:
-Nidoking1990 -ShinyMilotic -zotic1 -First person to score over 250,000 -Second person to score over 250,000 -Third person to score over 250,000
Money Amounts:
1,000,000 500,000 250,000 125,000 64,000 32,000* 16,000 8,000 4,000 2,000 1,000* 500 400 200 100 0 Starting at zero, a correct answer moves you to the next money amount. The stars indicate safe levels, where if you surpass this mark and get one wrong, you win that amount of money. Now the Rules:
Rules:
1. As said before, only questions relating to Pokemon Fire Red, or to any Pokemon below the R/S/F/L series may be used. 2. Each question will be asked by a judge and there will be four multiple choice answers given. 3. The person in the hotseat is chosen by the Fastest Finger Question, or the FFQ. The first person to correctly answer an FFQ is in the hotseat. 4. Only the person in the hotseat may answer questions. 5. A person has 48 hours to answer the question. If not they are thrown out of the hotseat. 6. Please, no spamming, flooding etc... in the thread. 7. Each person has five lifelines to use at any time, but once a lifeline is used, it cannot be used again. 8. Try to share it around and don't go in the hotseat two times close together. 9. Only judges may ask questions. Any person who asks a question who is not a judge or doesn't have a judges permission will have their question ignored. 10. If a non-judge wants to ask a question, they must first PM it to a judge and get the judge's approval.
Lifelines:
1. Ask the Audience: Anyone else may put there answer forwards, but after 48 hours, the person in the hotseat must answer based on what they have seen. 2. Call a Friend: The person can PM anyone they want (Except the judge asking the question) for their answer. The person has 48 hours to reply before the person in the hotseat has to answer. You can't call a listed judge. 3. 50-50: Narrows it down to two options. Cannot be used in conjunction with Double Dip 4. Double Dip: The person in the hotseat can chose 2 of the options. Cannot be used in conjunction with 50-50. 5. New Question: A new question is asked, but for the same price amount. This can't be used after the 125,000 dollar question.
SleepingNinetails, you're correct!

Just remove them from the Judge list. I'll judge for you, but I won't make as much questions as the other 2 lol.

It is time for the $32 000 Question and the Second Checkpoint.
Take the weight of Ursaring and multiply it by the number of weaknesses #329 has. Then divide that number by the Pokedex number of Lapras. After that, subtract the number of immunities #203 has. What is the answer, rounded to 5 decimal places?
A: 3.33333 B: 2.32782 C: 3.23358 D: 5.67793

re: Who Wants to be a Millionaire [V2]

whoa!
alright, one step at a time.
Ursaring's weight is 277.3! How do i know? well, while playing the card game against my friend... (we're competitive battlers, trying out new decks) he played an older card, Blaine's Quiz #1, which makes the opponent have to guess the weight of any pokemon in your hand. he chose his Ursaring, part of his new "wildlife" themed deck... and i got it completely wrong... but he told me the right answer and i committed it to memory, for the next time we battled! yay cards!
#329 is Vibrava... again, i collect cards and know most numbers by heart... and Vibrava is Ground and Dragon. Ground is weak to Ice and Water, and Dragon to Ice and Dragon, but is resistant to water, cancelling the weakness out. this leaves 2 weaknesses, Ice and Dragon.
277.3 x 2 = 554.6!
Lapras is #131. 554.6 / 131 = ...geez, i need a calculator all right, 554.6 / 131 = 4.23359. (rounded up from 8 to 9)
#203 is Girafarig, which is Normal and Psychic. Due to the types, it's only immunity is Ghost. That makes one.
4.23359 - 1 = 3.23359
so wait... was i not supposed to round up earlier? meh, ok then.
3.23359 - 0.00001 = 3.23358
c) 3.23358, final answer!
phew, i almost panicked a bit, because it took me a while to remember Lapras' number

You are correct!
Alright. I'll put the question down in a few minutes.

If you're such a math whiz and so knowledgeable about Pokemon, try this one on for size.
For $64 000 bucks!!!
- ____A____ -/---- -------H|\ /_____B___|_\
This question is based around the trapezium you see above you (not to scale). Each of the letters represents something; A is the top, B is the base and H is the height. In the following set of instructions, the values of A, B and H will be calculated, as you need these to get the correct answer to the question.
Calculate the probability of a Pokemon using Blizzard five times and hitting the opponent three times, if on the third turn, the opponent (who is faster than the Pokemon using Blizzard) uses Sand Attack successfully. Multiply this by 100, and this number, correct to 2 decimal places, is the value of side A.
Now assume there is a new Pokemon (Pokemon A) whose Base Stats are halfway between those of Slaking and Blissey (round down). If this Pokemon has a Naďve Nature, is level 81 and EVs/DVs of the respective values in each of the following stats:
HP: 72 – 19 Attack: 49 – 12 Defence: 96 – 27 Speed: 19 – 5 Special Attack: 175 – 23 Special Defence: 99 – 9
Calculate the stats of this Pokemon. Add these stats up, then divide by the difference between Blissey’s and Slaking’s Base Special Attack to get the value of side B.
Next we have a Pokemon at level 65 that has a Naughty Nature, and the following stats (not Base Stats), EVs and DVs:
HP: 242, 11, 30 Attack: 191, 86, 29 Defence: 146, 254, 4 Speed: 88, 51, 16 Special Attack: 112, 93, 12 Special Defence: 137, 15, 23
You must identify this Pokemon (Pokemon B), and then identify its evolution/pre-evolution (it only has one). Take this new Pokemon (Pokemon C) and, using the following system, determine a numerical value for its name:
A=1, B=2, C=3 … Z=26
Now if you take Pokemon B and get it to use Hidden Power against Pokemon A, determine the average damage obtained (no critical hits, no held items and no weakness/resistance for Pokemon A). Take the damage, and subtract from it the first digit of the damage (ie, if the damage was 72, 72 – 7 = 65). Multiply this number by the numerical value of the name of Pokemon C, then divide by 10 to get the value of H.
Now that you have the values for A, B and H, determine the area of the trapezium.
Round down the area, subtract from this the Special Attack of Pokemon A and divide by the Base Special Defence of Pokemon B. This number corresponds to that of a certain Pokemon’s Hoenn Dex Number. What is this Pokemon?
A: Nosepass B: Skitty C: Delcatty D: Zubat
Now THIS is Mission: Impossible!!!
zEdit: I'm not actually being serious. Only Ajindehs knows the answer to this question.
The real $64 000 question:
Which move can't #131 learn from a TM:
A: Strength B: Surf C: Body Slam D: Rock Smash

First of all, zotic, delete the last two posts. Second, this is such bull. Do you honestly believe that he memorized the weight from hearing it once? He is obviously lying and used some sort of resource. And third, zotic, Ajnidehs isn't the only one who knows that answer. I know that answer cause I got it right in that thread. Got PM proof if you want to see.

Well, there is no way to prove whether or not he used a source. I can't really DQ him on the spot because I have no way of proving that he looked up Ursaring's weight. Is there a proper procedure to this type of stuff?
I already deleted the two extra posts.
And as for the last one, I gotta see this.

The procedure I've seen is just to use common sense. Stuff like weight, height, catch rate, etc. are usually unknown stats and the people who do know them are usually well known. Sleeping Ninetails is not. People like Purestealth, Ajnidehs, WiseLugia, etc., ya, they know that shit, bt not a random person like SN. Plus, his explination doesn't check out. After doing a little checkup, there are three Blaine's Quiz cards: #1 asks for the LENGTH, not the weight, #2 wants the type of card, and #3 wants an attack from the card. So that would be a DQ for cheating. Gotta learn, SN, cheating NEVER pays. And if you are going to cheat, don't do it on questions it would be obvious you cheated on like this. Lifelines ftw!

so you're saying... just because i'm not one of them, i'm just some idiot from the street who knows nothing? just because you haven't heard of me, doesn't mean i can't possibly be smart! Like i've mentioned before, i tried to complete a pokedex, i collect cards... i use cards.... after a while, you just kind of get that pounded into your head. As for the weight problem, my friend read the stupid card wrong, i went back to check. It is length, and nothing else at all. either way, that was just yesterday, and i have a good memory. You're right, it's not normal to memorize things like that... hence why i haven't memorized them all. I know nothing about catch rates, and crap about weights and lengths, as well as base stats. I hate people thinking i'm a friggin cheater because i'm smart! I'm so sorry i don't frequently flaunt my brains around the forum, i'll try to do better to make myself known [/sarcasm]
go to hell, ZH!
