re: Help

Haha yeah it is a bit like a burning human...it's not one of my favourites...

Ok yup good idea - I hope that you'll enjoy them

Ah yup I know where you mean - dodrio, spearows and fearows - that would indeed be great for Rhyhorn. Hopefully Rhydon will perform better now that it's evolved Horn Drill is ok...but I just find that I never use it much. By the end yes I would definately get rid of it but for now, it depends on what else it knows really...

I've got rock tunnel next up on my game - not looking forward to it

re: Help

Well its about to learn a move in the next level up, so I think I am going to delete the move. It just doesnt work, and the pp is so low that by the time you run out, it didnt even have a chance to hit.

Oh Im sorry you have rock tunnel, I hate it. Rock tunnel is the worst tunnel in the game! UGH I hate caves lol. By the way, how is your golbat quest comming? Are you still raising it?

re: Help

Yeah I know what you mean with horn drill - it takes so long to hit that the PP runs out...or it faints. Good idea on replacing it

I've just done rock tunnel - Lavender town now - for a change it was actually OK. I think it's because I've trained my team higher than usual (due to only having 4) so actually I barely took damage...I usually have to go back to the pokecenter half way through it

Golbat's going quite nicely still - as soon as Zubat learns Wing Attack and evolves, it becomes quite strong - certainly better than Pidgeotto (who is my weakest member currently) but that may change when it evolves. It's a shame Golbat won't evolve for ages - otherwise he could have been my best I think I have a Venusaur now from all the training against Hikers in rock tunnel so he's taken over as team leader I get new team members though soon - I'm looking forward to it

re: Help

Rhydon is much more powerful now that he has evolved. He is level 50 now, I need to raise my vaporeon and meowth and pidgeot now. Have you ever heard of "Tri-Attack" It looks cool, I have only had it used against rhydon and he isnt weak against it, but I bet it takes alot of damage on normal pokemon. I wish I could find that as a TM.

I hate HM's though, I hate putting them on good pokemon because they waste moves, but then you cant have your team with you if you have to swap it out for diglet with cut, UGH!

What levels should the pokemon be when you get to the final four? Like 70?

Is there any items in any store that refills PP? I remember needing a bunch of ether when i played the original one durring the final four. I dont know how I will be able to beat them if my moves run out of PP...

re: Help

Good good, very nice Yup Tri attack is a very decent attack but unfortunately you can't get it as a TM. It's a normal type attack with 80 damage I think and it has a chance of paralysing, burning or freezing Dugtrio, Magneton, Dodrio and Porygon all learn it. It's the main reason why I use Dodrio in place of Pidgeot really. You're levels are looking very handy now - well done

I know, HM's are so annoying! this game is actually one of the nicest HM wise - Surf is a good move anyway, fly is Ok so then you're only left with strength and cut - ignore flash - but yeah they take up a space that could be used for a good move There is a guy somewhere that lets you delete moves you taught your pokemon so I usually do that with cut and strength nearer the end. I think that guy is on one of the later islands though...My Venusaur had to get dumped with cut

At level 70 you'll definately be fine. It depends on how much you want to really on items really - some people do it when they're only about level 50 and just take in masses of revives. I would say definately make sure that you are lvl 60+ but at the way you're going, you'll be above that anyway

Yup Ether and Elixer as well are the PP restoring items. I'm not sure that you can buy these anywhere so make sure you save them up for the elite 4

re: Help

That sucks your venusaur got stuck with cut. I would switch pidgeot for dudrio, but at this point I would feel bad, lol. I know they are just video games, but I would feel bad cramming pidgeot into a computer after all he has gotton me through. So I wont be changing, maybe next time I play I will wait and get a dodrio.

I have everyone at 50 now, things are good but they are so high that they never level up durring fights lol. I wont stop to make sure and level them up by battling over and over again until I get to the elite four.

That is BS how we cant buy either and elixer.... they used to let you in the original. That is insane, I dont know how to beat the elite four without them. That is going to be really tough.

re: Help

Yeah poor Vensaur - but actually being a grass type, there's not really that much good stuff that it can learn...
Yup I feel the same way about putting away Pokemon you've trained - usually I just choose a team and stick with it so that I don't have to do it, but in this game there's going to be about 11 that I want to train so maybe I'll just train them all lots of Vs Seeker usage there. Pidgeotto will be dropped though...I haven't really got attached to it as Golbat's always outclassed it, both having Wing Attack for their best move, but Golbats attack is way better. I'm gonna evolve it into Pidgeot first though to show my thanks for it's services

Very nice level Hehe yeah, all of your opponents are so weak that they don't give enough experience. I'm finding that a bit too at the moment - everyone around Celadon is about lvl 23

You'll be alrite without them - if you're planning on getting them all to 70, you'll faint all their Pokemon in 2 hits - 1 if it's super effective. A couple of Ethers or something usually suffices on those low PP moves.

re: Help

I dont know if I want to get them to level 70 now, that would take ages and there isnt enough experience points to give me a good haul, it would take a year to level everyone up twenty levels. If you think 60 should be ok, then I think I will stick with that.

I just beat blaine last night, once you finish the silph co. the game pretty much runs so fast. I ended up going to the islands with bill but saved it. I am excited to see this part of the game lol.

How many levels are your pokemon at? Are you getting far in the game?

re: Help

60 should be Ok, you could always raise a couple of them a bit higher or something if you wanted too. It does take a long time to train them when you're that highly leveled. I think I usually just train against wild pokemon in victory road in preparation for the elite 4 - some of them give pretty good experience.

Yeah there isn't really much after silph co/Sabrina. A bit of sea, Blaine and then if you don't go to the islands, the eighth gym is the immediate thing that you would have to do next. Congrats on Blaine - he's my favourite gym leader (using an Arcanine ) I think the first 3 islands are my favourites - I expect you'll enjoy it - doing something new is always interesting

My team is now at level 35-36 lower than yours Recently I've been training mostly to get Jolteon, Dodrio and Growlithe up to that level. I've done Erika, and the first rocket section, but now I thought I'd be different, so rather than going down to Fuschia, I'm doing Saffron first. I've done the fighting Dojo so have the silph co. up next. I think my team should be able to cope...I hope I may leave Sabrina til after Koga though - my team isn't any good against Psychic at the moment Also, I would like a water Pokemon, so I'm going for Lapras which you get in silph.co

re: Help

Yea I am about to start victory road right now and my pokemon are level 55-51. So I am worried they arent strong enough. They have been to strong all game now they wont be strong enough, very frusterating.

I did the three islands, they were fun. In berry forest can you get any berries though? Because I think there is a berry that fills up PP and that would be great if you could get a lot of those, but maybe there isnt and I just think there is lol.

I beat Sabrinas gym with my meowth it was funny. I love kicking butt with Meowth, everyone thinks meowth is weak but he is pretty strong. I just use shadow ball and wipe out all psychic pokemon.

Did you evolve your eevee?

re: Help

You should be fine doing victory road with those levels I always find that my team doesn't grow much nearer the end as well - it is indeed frustrating - the whole game you've been so far ahead of everyone and then they suddenly catch up The elite 4 do jump up the level pretty significantly though

Nice I think the first one is my favourite. To my knowledge there aren't many berries in berry forest (how silly) perhaps the odd couple on the ground somewhere...It's a shame you can't grow berries on this game - I liked that in Ruby/Sapphire. There is a PP berry - the Leppa berry. I think you get them as a prize from one of those games on two island after you rescue the girl and take her home...I've never tried them though actually

Ha, congratulations Meowth It is so great when something unexpected turns out a victory Shadow ball certainly would have worked wonders there

Yup I evolved Eevee into Jolteon - I prefer Vapoureon but I've got Lapras and no electric type so I thought it would be more beneficial to my team. Oh and no to Flareon as I've got Growlithe and the fact that it's not all that good...

All of mine are finally level 40 now but I've already done all of Saffron except Sabrina so my levels are still way behind yours

re: Help

I decided to do some more training before I do victory road, I want to get everyone up to 60 before I move on.

Is Mewtwo worth using the master ball on later in the game? I heard that there is one of the Entai type pokemon wondering the land after you beat the elite four and you should use the master ball on that one, But isnt mewtwo like impossible to catch without it?

I never really got into growing berries in the ruby game, it is a nice touch but I just found it hard to go back all the time to water them. I wish you could grow them in this game though, even if it was just in berry forest, then it would be easy to remember where you planted them.

Dont worry your levels are very high, I just fought those bird guys over and over again, it took a few days of nothing but fighting them, it gets boring but I just did it with the sound off while watching tv or I play while I fall asleep at night. You cant do it for fun, you have to do it while you are doing other things lol.

re: Help

Ok, yeah it is always nice to keep on top of the training - you'll certainly find it easy enough at that lvl

Yup, one of the dogs do appear after the elite 4 - I haven't actually found one before...so in past games I've tended to use the master ball on Mewtwo. It would be better to use it on the dog though, due to them being able to flee. Mewtwo is static like the birds but such a pain to catch, knowing recover and such like - it's your choice really

I agree with not getting into them with Ruby - I just never seemed to bother...for Diamond/Pearl I did a little berry run everyday though, not sure why it should be any different It would be nice to grow them in berry forest, keeping them in a smaller area - the forest would live up to it's name a bit better then as well

Yup, I always watch T.V when I'm doing something like training My levels aren't bad I suppose I've just beaten Koga now - he was surprisingly harder than he normally is but then in my last game, I had a very overly-levelled Starmie who knew Psychic, so all of his fainted in one hit I've got more training to do now though...I caught a load in the safari zone so now Rhyhorn (you know how that feels) and Dratini, and Lapras from the silph.co need to catch up with my team

re: Help

I finally got everyone up to level 60, it was such a long hard thing to do. I cheated and got vaporeon up to 59 and then crammed a rare candy down its throat lol.

I might just use the master ball on mewtwo, The dog that comes with Charmander is the water type one, and he is kind of stupid. I like entai but not so much the other ones. They are just giant eevee evolved forms. I might try to catch mewtwo with ultra balls for a while but if it takes longer than a few tries I am going to just use the master ball. I dont really intend to dwell on the game after I beat it anyway, I plan to restart Ruby (You should restart it with me so we can talk through it lol) and by the time I come back to play pokemon red in a year or so, I would want to start all over anyway.

I hope the elite four are easy, I cant wait to fight them, I have never been leveled this high so I am hoping for an easy fight. I hope my PP doesnt run out though.

re: Help

Congrats on all to 60 yeah I know, training at that level takes soooo long. Hehe hope it didn't choke

Suicune, hmm yeah I'm not that keen on any of them really - I love the birds but they just seem as you say a bit like eeveelutions. I'll be getting Entei on mine but yeah I'll probably still end up using the master ball on Mewtwo. Good idea to give it a go with ultra's first though. You've still got some islands to do after the elite 4 but yeah after that I know what you mean...it'll just be filling the pokedex etc. I may indeed start Ruby as well or well maybe I should do Sapphire to catch different things - I think Sapphire is mine and Ruby is my brothers...can't remember I don't think I'm very far through Ruby atm so I could just carry on but it would probably be nicer to start again

I haven't got much further atm, I'm putting off doing the training Lapras and Rhyhorn have got to lvl 30...that's about it..I'll try and get some more done today

The elite 4 aren't really ever easy but you shouldn't find them too difficult. I always seem to find the first trainer the hardest for some reason (Ice) Your PP should be fine, you've always got struggle to resort to in the event of it happening With a team of 6 though, PP shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't use the same pokemon over and over again. Good luck!
