You need a fire pokemon? Well you should consider getting a Torkoal. There a decent fire pokemon and there decent to try out for something new. But i'm guessing your doing a run through of Ruby/Sapphire?

Oh ok, that's pretty cool. I was doing a run through of sapphire at the moment also, though now i'm up to the Elite Four and i am currently playing now. I'm up against the ice lady Glacia. On that note i just beat her though, she made my Breloom, Armaldo, Cradily and Dragonite faint. My only two pokemon left alive were my Gardveior and Kyogre. I traded over the Cradily and Dragonite from my emerald copy though.

re: Help |

The fossils are actually pretty good. I've found that Armaldo is heavily attack based whereas Cradily is heavily based on both its defensive stats. I found a decent set for Armaldo was ancient power, hyper beam, brick break and water pulse. The only level up move it learns in the set though is ancient power. Breloom and Gardveior are amazing pokemon. On my Breloom i have Leech Seed, sludge bomb, mach punch and Sky Uppercut. His special attack stat was pathetic so i didn't bother with grass moves as there all special. On my Gardevior i had shadow ball, physchic, thunderbolt and future sight. Though i think as it levels up i will change physchic and future sight for the hypnosis dream eater combo.

re: Help |

Ah ok - yup I think I'd go for Armaldo for a play-through just because I'd rather go all out attack than going for the more defensive techniques...that moveset sounds very decent for it, covers alot of types etc. It is annoying when you only get 1 of most tm's having to decide which pokemon you're going to give it too...I would have loved to teach my Breloom sludge bomb as you have done but I have a Crobat in my team as a flyer so it will be going to him instead (poison fang just isn't good enough) I really like Gardevoir and Breloom, definately two of the best - it is a shame about Brelooms sp att so yeah I'll probably end up getting rid of mega drain...although I will have a spare space without sludge bomb...maybe return. For Gardevoir I'll definately be going for Psychic and Thunderbolt and then maybe the hypnosis/dream eater...shadow ball will be going on my Slaking I think, with it being att rather than sp att I think? I always get muddled up with types now after the change in Diamond ------------------- ![]()

Yeh with tms that is where Emerald comes in handy ALOT with the cloning glitch alloying you to clone every item like tms, master balls, rare candies and heart scales etc. But if you can't give Loom sludge bomb your best off giving him return as he has a large attack stat so you shoudl abuse the power he has. Gardviors are great for there special attacking options. But i can't help but agree with the fact that the types muddle me up heaps aswell. It just gets to confusing. I much prefer the way attacks are sorted in D/P. It simplifies and allows for a lot of type versatility in a pokemon.

Nice! Aww ok I didn't get emerald, thinking it was just a copy of Sapphire...that glitch sounds extremely handy though. Yup I expect I'll go with Return and abuse it's power ------------------- ![]()

re: Help |

Well it's not a copy of sapphire, the storyline has been changed and made longer, they've added on a feature called the battle frontier which is dead set awesome! It's amazing fun and it's different from anything else we've seen before in pokemon games. But i have officially just beaten Steven. A lot easier then what i used to have against him. I used to struggle completely finding him to hard. His metagross is a pain in the ass though, he just meteor mashes the whole team which pretty much kills anything because of Metagross' insane attack and STAB.

re: Help |

Yeh i would recommend, my favourite pokemon game of them all! But his Metty does seem to have awesome defenses, for special and physical too. He can normally survive a super effective hit and hit back twice as hard.

re: Help |

I see, yeh it does get quite boring after the Elite Four. I can agree when i only had sapphire i just used to restart. But Ivs are pretty easy to understand the base of. They just add more to stats and an IV of 31 is the highest and what you try to aim for when IV breeding. There simple once you get the whole idea about them. Just another addition to game mechanics which makes pokemon so much more in depth than what little kids think it is ^^.

re: Help |

I think I get the idea of IV's...I have looked into them but just haven't really been bothered with using them as of yet since I don't play competitively or anything. To check IV's you need to make them a fairly decent level too don't you? which is something I've had trouble with never having enough rare candies to do it with....I do like making the movesets and things though - breeding moves across and such like is something I enjoy. ------------------- ![]()
