train my Charizard was in the 70s when i won, everyone else in the 50s or 60s

Dude, I hate to say it but you are lucky that you even got a reply to this thread. Now that Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum are out, no one really cares about Pokemon Firered.
In-game, what team you have doesn't really matter. As long as you aren't completely ignorant of types and levels and things like that, pretty much anything except a team of Magikarp can beat the Elite 4, easily if they are above level 55.
If you really get absolutely stuck, just PM one of the senior members with your question. You are far more likely to get a response.

You should train each Pokemon in places where they'll score critical hits. So train Blastoise in Victory Road where you'll get spammed with Rock/Ground types. Hook Pokemon with a Super Rod to train Raichu.

Training is highly recommended. I don't think your team is quite ready for the Elite Four. Train them all to the 50-55 range, and as long as you know type weaknesses and resistances, you should be all set.
