A Pokemon Sprite would be made even if it is not catchable in the game. Maybe it could be gotten in some Nintendo Events, so they put the sprites in. And Ive already seen the Mew sprite on Netbattle.

Mew is catchable in Blue and red, my frends said that you can catch it by using strength or surf (I think that is crazy and not true), but in Fire red or Leaf green, euahhhh maybe you might but i think you might be able to catch it, but I think you'll have to use gameshark.

How about going about hard facts rather than "I think"? I won't waste my time with spam.

I think it was meant to be in the game but a glitch or something made it not appear. This happened with celbi in silver.

Conditions:
-Get both Ruby and Sapphire Plates and have access to the unknown dungeon
-Unknowns !?
-Mewtwo
-Ditto

Once all conditions are done, put Mewtwo in your first slot, and have
ditto in the second, with Unknown ! being third, and Unknown ? being fourth.
Have a Pokemon that knows surf, and fly to island 6 and swim to the
transfermation cave after the forest. Once you enter, the ground will
start shaking and reveal a flight of stairs. Continue until you get to the
final room, where mew is. He is at level 30, so be careful. and thats how u get mew, no lie.!!!!!!!!

i heard it from some other forum and then i tried it on my rom and it worked. but i just got a new rom cuz my comp got rebooted and i lost the other one, but soon i will have him again.
