	Well you can. It just involves trading with Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Leaf Green, Fire Red, Colosseum, and Nintendo Special Events for other Pokémon, such as Lugia, Ho-Oh, Mew, Jirachi, etc.

	You can get Johto's pokémon. Some are in Fire Red, Leaf Green, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. The rest are in colosseum. Hence... quote TUMOG Well you can. 	Now that would be an example of sarcasm . Like what was said before, if you want all of the Johto Pokemon, you'll have to trade with the other version. HOWEVER, if you want all the other Pokemon, you'll have to trade with Ruby, Sapphire, and Collosseum. 	THIS GAME IS A REMAKE OF FIRE RED. You cannot go to Johoto or Hoenn because they were made AFTER Red. The Islands are _ONLY_ a built-in expansion. You don't just skip 3 years forward in time.

	y but there are many references to G/S/C such as the homeland of Lance and the pro oak's radio programm... you SHOULD be able to go to to johto and hoenn... ------------------- Credit To Arcanine 194 For TC.
