No I'm sorry it is not possible to get Scizor in this game.

You have to go to Leaf Green get a Sychter in the Safari Zone, and trade him over with a Metal Coat to get a Scizor.

It is real. Politoed will evolve from Poliwhirl if you trade Poliwhirl while it's holding a King's Rock. ( If you give Poliwhirl a Water Stone, it will instead evolve into Poliwrath.

You can also catch it in the safari zone apparently. First area. About the same chances of finding one as Chansey... now, somehow the guides weren't aware of this but I did it, so either my version is unique, or they just didn't know.

Well, regardless of what those strategy guides said, I got a Scyther... took me hours to find just one too...

Either way, I just hope this doesn't sound like a fake or something. Just try it yourself. First area right as soon as you come out... if you want a specific patch of grass where I found them it's the western patch accross from the lake ( I don't know if that affects it at all ).

The ones I found ranged from 23 to 27, although the 23 lvl were more common.

Serebii has a lot of mistakes there, but the majority of their information is correct.

I got a Scizor in Firered by cathing it in safarie and i got a politoed, and steelix even though i had to start over to get two metal coats.

You can win metal coat, kings rock and dragon scale in the battle tower, aswell as finding them (one of each).

Scyther is on fire red (caught in safari zone or bought in game corner for 5500 coins) get metal coat and trade.

Slowpoke is caught on leafgreen trade one with a kings rock to get slowking (level 36 for Slowbro I think).

Poliwhirl is caught on both versions, water stone for Poliwrath, and kings rock for politoed.

Onix is caught on both versions, trade with metal coat to get steelix.

Seadra is caught on both versions, trade with dragon scale to get kingdra.
