1. Yeh they do, they effect the grwoth of certain stats.

2. They are rare, but when you face one a circle of stars will go around them.

i caught a shiny:) its legit too....a poliwag:) now its evolved into a poliwhirl.....is it possible for it to evolve into a politoed?

also the pokemon will look a diff color as well

why do the creaters bothered to put shiny's in the game? something else to do?
