how long do i wait for a egg to hactch?

Your Togepi should hatch in 1,560 steps. I suggest going on a bike and whizzing around for ages.

Put your Egg in your party and when you have walked 2,560 steps with it in your team it will hatch.

It's because I'm such a jerk and won't allow game threads or favorite threads.

Forums like this are destined to slowly die when the next generation game, although they may be revived later.

Ruby and Sapphire sort of died when FireRed and LeafGreen were released, although they still have game and favorites threads, as well as some actual help and discussion threads to support them... so they're still somewhat alive.

With emerald just days away everybody is going to the emerald forum and people are leaving forums like FireRed and LeafGreen. Of course, there are always going to be a few diehard fans that will remain here (like me).
