Yes, it should. I just evolved my larvitar to pupitar and it stayed shiny. But for future purposes, you should always duplicate the shiny before evolving it. That way, you can have things like: tyrogue, hitmonchan, hitmonlee, and hitmontop all shiny in your case.
And while I'm here at the site, I hatched a shiny larvitar. So now I got new theories, ideas, and experiments to run. And I think the breedings have to do with affection of your pokemon towards you. I just tried breeding a raichu with blue ditto, and got a normal pichu. So I'm going to up the affection of raichu and try again to see if I get a shiny pichu. That's all I have with my results. I'll post again later. And if you guys have any new news, I'd like to hear it.

I have seen 1 shiny pokémon...the red Gyarados that everyone sees in G/S/C. I'm planning on restarting my LeafGreen soon though, to help my Ruby's National Dex, so I may as well waste hours and hours finding shinies.
And Mikstaslaya...As has been said before in this thread, breeding a shiny or two shinies does not up the chances of getting a shiny hatchling. The chances are still 1/8192. EDIT: I have a question about shiny starters. It was asked before, but never got answered. When you pick the starter you want, it'll show a box with a picture of the pokémon in it, and Oak'll say: "This is your choice?" Will the starter's picture in that box be shiny if the starter is shiny? This message was edited by J_man92 on May 02 2007.

quote MikstaslayaNope. When Pokemon evolve they always stay shiny, but even if 2 shinies breed it wont always create a shiny offspring (baby pokemon)

I have a shiny Rhyhorn from the Safari Zone on FireRed, and a shiny Golbat from Victory Road on Ruby.
Strange; for all the time I've played the Advanced Generation, I've only got two shinies... Oh well, that's luck. I've covered a lot about Shinies in my Pokemon blog, Pokelude.

It's possible.
Did it have an accompanying animation?

If it had a shiny animation, and was a different color than usual ones, than yes, it was a shiny. And if you didn't catch it, you'll prolly never see it again.
By the way, breeding a shiny pokemon with a regular WILL increase the chances of getting a shiny baby pokemon. The chances on average is 1:60. I've tried this theory, and it does work.
