re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0 |
quote Arcanine 194It will be 6 Atk EVs. Each Blaziken has 3 Atk EVs, and since you fight two, 3 x 2 = 6. If you fought 10 Baltoys, with a Baltoy having 2 Atk EVs, you'll have 10 x 2 = 20 Atk EVs. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! My Pokemon Blog! (Sig courtesy of The Cheat King)

re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0 |
quote jaredaThis is the best moveset for Blastoise, in my opinion: Blastoise@Leftovers Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) EVs: 230 HP/150 Def/90 Sp.Def/40 Sp.Atk -Surf -Counter -Mirror Coat -Protect That there's a mean, tough Blastoise. Surf get's STAB, Protect allows Leftovers to take another turn (and also helps lower the HP of the opponent if they are Poisoned/Burnt), and with high defences and HP you can counter anything. As for Charizard, I prefer to use it as a Special Sweeper: Charizard@Chesto Berry Modest Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) EVs: 26 HP/252 Sp.Atk/232 Speed -Flamethrower/Overheat -Dragon Claw -Rest -Hidden Power [Grass/Electric/Water] This Charizard is simply the Special equivalent of Salamence. It is fast, powerful but has low defences so expect to switch in and out regularly. If you are the kind of person who doesn't switch Pokemon often (which is the best way to do things) then use Flamethrower. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! My Pokemon Blog! re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0 |
quote KeisukeWell, you have three Fire moves and one Rock move there. You can't really use Charizard to it's full potential with that, I'm afraid. Out of the three Fire moves, keep Flamethrower and get rid of Blast Burn (miss a turn, too risky) and Fire Blast (Inaccurate). I suggest the following: -Flamethrower/Overheat -Dragon Claw -Rest -Hidden Power [Ice/Grass/Water/Electric] If you're willing to use that, then remember to attach a Chesto Berry to your Charizard, and if you want to use Overheat, remember to switch out Charizard right after you use it. To check your Charizard's Hidden Power Type and it's Power, use Serebii's calculator, found here: http://serebii.net/games/iv-calc.shtml You'll have to know your Charizard's IVs and EVs to use it, though. If you don't know what IVs and EVs are, then please consult with the "Individual Value" and "Effort Value" guides on Serebii. @Arcanine 194, ...You change your proposed team an awful lot, eh? The Emerald Move Tutors are spread all across Hoenn. Please refer to the following link for their exact locations: http://www.serebii.net/emerald/movetutor.shtml Alterations in Red, comments in Blue. Swampert@Leftovers Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Sp.Atk) -Brick break -Earthquake -Iron tail -Curse Very good, right from the off. Swampert doesn't benefit much from Protect, apart from letting the Leftovers have another turn to work. Generally, a Delay strategy only works if your Pokemon is either a Tank (not a Physical or Special one) or an Annoyer/Spiker. Apart from that, no problems. Salamence@Leftovers Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Sp.Atk) -Dragon dance -Brick break -Earthquake -Aerial ace (Rock Slide?) ...That's one of the movesets I've given, right? Excellent, but you might want to consider swapping Aerial Ace for Rock Slide. Just another variation in the other moveset I gave, really. The one you're using is absolutely fine though. Blaziken@Leftovers Adamant nature (+Atk, -Sp.Atk) -Brick break -Aerial ace -Earthquake/Rock Slide -Bulk Up Slash isn't a great move, and you're hardly going to get much use out of the Black Belt item when only one move uses it. Apart from that, looking good so far. Dragonite@leftovers Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Sp.Atk) -Steel wing/Brick Break -Earthquake -Aerial ace -Dragon dance No problems here. You might want to use Brick Break instead of Steel Wing here, but that's upto you. Vaporeon@Leftovers Modest Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) EVs: 110 HP/100 Def/110 Sp.Atk/190 Sp.Def -Acid Armour -Double Team -Surf/Substitute -Baton pass It is mostly used as a BPer here. Launch it out, let Acid Armour and Double Team work a bit, then switch out with one of your many Physical Pokemon. Alakazam@Leftovers Modest Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) EVs: 6 HP/252 Sp.Atk/252 Speed -Psychic -Shadow Ball -Ice/Thunder/Fire Punch -Ice/Thunder/Fire Punch Very easy moveset, very easy idea behind it. With a beneficial Nature, full EVs and an excellent Special Attack base stat, there is no need for Calm Mind, to be honest. Gah... Too much typing. Anyway, that's an excellent team you have there. Not really criticism, more a thing I noticed; most of your Pokemon are Physical Sweepers. That's fine, but in time, you'll see the need for Hazers, Annoyers etc, but that time isn't now. I give your team an 8-8.5/10. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! My Pokemon Blog! (Sig courtesy of The Cheat King)

re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0 |
quote Arcanine 194It's upto you, Arcanine. Using Aerial Ace is fine, but I tend to go for powerful attacks on Physical Sweepers. Vapoureon learns Substitute via a Move Tutor in FireRed/LeafGreen/Emerald. There are a number of ways to block Lock on and Mind Reader. Firstly, you can use Roar or Whirlwind to simply sweep the Pokemon away. Or, you can just sub in with a Pokemon that takes barely any damage. For example, if a Magneton uses Lock On, quickly change to a Ground type and it's Zap Cannon won't work. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! My Pokemon Blog!
