re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0 |
quoteHmm... The nature isn't ideal to be honest. If you had Modest (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) then that would have been better suited. As for the moveset, Ice Beam and Surf I agree with as both give STAB... But, do you really need another Ice and Water move? I'd personally replace one with Confuse Ray and the other with Thunderbolt/Psychic. quoteAh... A Special Sweeper Dragonite. The nature is perfect, and the only thing that doesn't make sense here is Slam. Replace that and Safeguard with two from Surf, Flamethrower and Thunderbolt. quoteHmm, Quiet (+Sp.Atk, -Speed) is fine I suppose, as Hypno doesn't need Speed really. Future Sight, Headbutt and Hypnosis (...50% accuracy isn't good man quoteThe nature isn't great... Modest (+Sp.Atk, -Atk), Bold (+Def, -Atk) or Calm (+Sp.Def, -Atk) would have worked well. As a general rule, never have more than one Type attacking move in your moveset. Here, you have two Water moves, which is pointless actually. Another general rule is to always aim for accuracy. Hydro Cannon, regardless of it's power, is unaccurate (at about 80% around) and makes you miss a turn. Therefore, I suggest you get rid of pretty much everything instead of Surf, and teach it Counter, Mirror Coat and Protect. Basically, Blastoise makes a great Tank and it's high defences make it ideal for this role. quoteThe Nature is wrong; Zapdos' main strengths are it's Speed and Sp.Atk. Having a nature that lowers Speed? Not good. Modest (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) or Timid (+Speed, -Atk) would have been excellent. As for the moveset... I know Zapdos doesn't learn many moves, but, again, having two Flying moves isn't how it's done. Replace both of them for Hidden Power [Grass/Water] and Protect. quoteQuirky isn't great... Modest (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) would have been better. As for the moveset, everything but Flamethrower should be changed. I'm going to agree with the Serebii moveset here an recommend that you use it as a Sunny Beamer, where your Pokemon uses Sunny Day and then you can attack with the effects of it. I'm just going to state what Serebii says here, as I don't like Rapidash to be honest. The moveset should be; -Sunny Day -Flamethrower -Solar Beam -Hidden Power [Ice] Overall, your team is messy, even with the good Pokemon you have. I give it a 5/10; I hope my improvements help you. EDIT: As for Tyranitar, it is a great Pokemon and you'd do well to replace it with Rapidash. If you do, aim for the following; Tyranitar@Leftovers Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Sp.Atk) -Earthquake -Dragon Dance -Rock Slide -Brick Break/Aerial Ace Dragon Dance is an Egg move. You'll have to refer to pages 18 and forwards for how to get it, as I've already gone through it in detail with Arcanine194. If you want IV and EV guidlines, then feel free to ask; I didn't see any of them in your posts, so I assume you don't want to consider them, which is your choice really. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! I can tell just by looking at that Blastoise that you haven't followed the EV Spread I showed you. To get 362 HP, a Blastoise must have 31 IVs and 252 EVs; the moveset I gave only required about 210. Can you tell me what moveset you followed? ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! My Pokemon Blog! (Sig courtesy of The Cheat King)

re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0 |
quote Hmm... That is not ideal, but still useable. All this means is that your Blastoise will not be able to hit with Surf as powerful as you wanted. If you want, replace Surf with Toxic. If not, then keep Surf, but remember, use Kyogre before Blastoise, so that it's Ability makes Surf more powerful. Anyway, let me take a look at your Blastoise's IVs: HP: 31 Atk: 30 Def: 11 Sp.Atk: 26 Sp.Def: 25 Speed: 24 That's quite a good Blastoise. Shame about the low Defence, but the EV spread you used seemed to have even it out. Yup, it's worth using this Blastoise. quoteHmm... This isn't good, I'll be honest. A Kyogre with the following minimum IV boundary would have been nice: HP: 20 Atk: N/A Def: 20 Sp.Atk: 25 Sp.Def: 20 Speed: 25 Just looking at that, only Sp.Def meets it. If you can, get another Kyogre. quoteAs ever, a matter of preference. If you want more power, sure, go for Thunder. However, you have to consider that another Pokemon can come in and change the weather; be it a Groudon or Tyranitar with their Abilities, or a Pokemon that knows Sandstorm, Hail or Sunny Day. Then what can you do? If you think the chances of that happening are slim, teach it Thunder instead of Thunderbolt. quotePokemon Netbattle is a free online Pokemon battle simulator that runs on your PC and not on any conventional Nintendo console. You can battle players from across the world using this tool. It is not an illegal program as no profit is being made by the creator, nor is it an emulator of any existing Pokemon games. It merely simulates the battles that go on. I personally use it to tweak EVs, movesets and see how they fare against other trainers in advance of me actually trying them out on the GBA. If you want to download it, ONLY download it from the creator's site: http://tvsian.info/netbattle/download.htm There are many fake versions going around, and seeing how I'm currently having an on-going problem with hackers, stick to what people have tried and recommend. Netbattle is becoming less active these days. A lot of people anticipated this, with the release of Diamond/Pearl offering a better way to battle. Still, there are many people there and it is worth it if you got experience fighting other trainers than the same pals at school or the NPCs in the GBA titles. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! quoteThere are many other Rain-Dancing Pokemon that can be used as Special Sweepers (or not). For example, if you wanted to use Lapras, Starmie, Kingdra or Ludicolo (and what an HP recoverer Ludicolo is!), then that works great, as all benefit from it as well. quote You can fight anyone on Netbattle, including me. If you're having problems downloading, try it again. I recently downloaded Netbattle to my new laptop and it worked fine. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! My Pokemon Blog! Ludicolo@Leftovers quote...That's very good, yes. Defence and Speed are off a bit, but Sp.Def, Sp.Atk and HP are above the guidlines, so you might as well use this Kyogre now with the following setup: Kyogre@Leftovers Modest Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) EVs: 6 HP/252 Sp.Atk/252 Speed -Calm Mind -Surf -Thunderbolt/Thunder -Ice Beam The standard EV spread I recommended works with those EVs as well. 400MB? The file is no way near that big. It's only 5.84MB, and it even says so on the site. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! My Pokemon Blog! (Sig courtesy of The Cheat King)

re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0 |
quote Dragonite X-Leftovers is one of the better items to use, so that's good. -Lonely (+Atk, -Def) is alright, but not ideal. Adamant (+Atk, -Sp.Atk) would've been better. -Thrash isn't a good move, as your opponent can easily switch out to a Pokemon that's resistant to Normal types, like Gengar. Replace it with Dragon Dance via breeding. -Crunch is a Special Attack; Tyranitar's peak offensive base stat is Attack. Therefore, replace that with something else, possibly Brick Break. Not a bad Tyranitar, but not amazing either. 5/10. ------------------- ![]() Visit Pokelude! My Pokemon Blog! (Sig courtesy of The Cheat King)
