I'm not talking about levels, I'm talking about movesets (and partly your choice of Pokemon for the team, but that isn't as big a deal).

re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0

Gengar (M) @ Petaya Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Confuse Ray
- Destiny Bond
- Ice Punch
- Substitute

I open with substitute. If Gengar's sub isn't broken, I go for Confuse Ray and ice Punch, otherwise I keep using sub until the HP is down to one and the Petaya kicks it. I either use Ice Punch to KO it if it'll be super effective or Destiny Bond to take down both.

Tauros (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Iron Tail
- Return

This usually sweeps teams with ease.

Dragonite (M) @ Liechi Berry
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 68 HP / 144 Atk / 252 Spd / 44 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Flying]

I chose it as a DDer over Gyarados.

Alakazam (M) @ Petaya Berry
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Ice Punch
- Psychic
- Thunderpunch

A few CMs and it sweeps easily.

Snorlax (M) @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Immunity
EVs: 76 HP / 46 Atk / 136 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Rest
- Return
- Shadow Ball

Curselax.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Def / 216 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Heal Bell
- Seismic Toss
- Softboiled
- Toxic

Clears legendaries easily.

Gengar doesn't need that much Speed, pump some of the EVs into its Defences.

A standard CB Tauros. Not the greatest CB Pokemon, but a very formidable opponent nonetheless.

This is obviously a Sweeper, but if I were you I'd go for more EVs in Atk, and replacing Liechi with Leftovers. A Pokemon that DDs, CMs etc... needs something to heal it.

Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Ice Punch

- Thunderpunch

A few CMs and it sweeps easily.
Once again, Leftovers over Petaya. This set needs Recover as well, as this allows you to CM, heal, and then sweep with full health (always a bonus if you come up against something you can't destroy in one hit). Seeing as Gengar has Ice Punch, I'd replace it with Recover.

- Shadow Ball

Curselax.
Curselax needs Leftovers on it as Chesto provides one time use and as this thing has major Speed issues it can go down whilst it is asleep.

Aromatherapy > Heal Bell. It heals the whole team.

re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0

Alakazam's HP and defense is too pathetically low for Leftovers to do any good. Petaya gives it an extra boost in special attack that can turn the match in your favor.

Same with Gengar in terms of defense.. there's no use in boosting it since it'll be low either way.

Both Aromatherapy and Heal Bell remove status problems from the entire team.

re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0

The thing about Gengar is that you are using it as a stalling Pokemon, and any stalling Pokemon needs to have at least som half-decent Defences.
As for Alakazam, you will be more then likely raising its stats with CM when you are fighting a Special Attacking Pokemon, so with Leftovers there it can ensure another CM before you need to start sweeping.

Agreed. But as previously mentioned by yourself, Alakazam's HP and Defense is pathetic. Which is why CM is a waste of a move on Alakazam. Whenever Alakazam uses Calm Mind it is open to a one hit KO from anything with a good physical attack.

Replace Calm Mind with Fire Punch and get yourself a Calm Minding, Baton Passer if your Alakazam's SpAtk is not high enough to sweep on its own.

quote Megaman10
Nidoqueen
-Flamethrower
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Surf

Nidoqueen usually seems to work best as a mixed sweeper. Keep icebeam and thunderbolt (this will give you all the type coverage you will need) and throw in earthquake and sludge bomb for STAB. You could attach leftovers or choice band too.

quote Megaman10
Nidoking
-Earthquake
-Sludge Bomb
-Megahorn
-Surf

No need for surf here. How about replacing it with rock slide, and attaching a choice band

quote Megaman10

Hitmonlee
-Brick break
-Double Kick
-High Jump Kick
-Earthquake

Too many fighting moves....

How about you use the reversaling set:

-Substitute
-Reversal
-Rock Slide (you dont like hidden power)
-Mach Punch (for things you think will use a fast attack on you on low hp)

Attach a salac berry if you have one.

quote Megaman10
Golem
-Earthquake
-Explosion
-Flamethrower
-Mega Punch

The first 2 moves are great, and Flamethrower can be good if you are scared of skarm (i am) so those moves are great. Just add counter or rock slide instead of mega punch. Attach leftovers.

quote Megaman10
Gengar
-Shadow Punch
-Shadow Ball
-Hypnosis
-Dream Eater

Gengar has a lot of options, but dream eater and 2 ghost moves isnt one of them.

you should try this one out:

-Substitute
-Focus Punch
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt

Attach leftovers.

quote Megaman10
Gyrados
-Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Return
-Flamethrower

Dragon dance, return and earthquake are great. Add taunt instead of flamethrower though. Attach leftovers.

quote Megaman10
Blastoise
-Surf
-Bite
-Ice Beam
-Strength

Surf is fine, icebeam is fine, add rest and maybe haze or or rapid spin. Attach leftovers.

quote Megaman10
Charizard
-Earthquake
-Dragon Claw
-Flamethrower
-Fly (Please don't say HP flying, or any HP for any of them).

The best version of charizard is the belly drum version... however i dont know that you want to rebreed your charizard to get it.

How about trying this one:

-Swords Dance
-Aerial Ace
-Rock Slide
-Fire Blast/Flamethrower

re: General Rate My Team Thread Version 2.0

hey it's me again.
Once again I'm gonna set out my RSE / FR LG team (whew), again I'm still set on edition exclusive focus... and don't bug me on getting a Ho-oh as a prize off the Colosseum, it's not exclusive to RSE okay? Although it's unbelievably cheap on the field with a Groudon, that's for another day... hehehehee.
Also, I should state that my teams for RSE are mainly built for double battles, because if I wanted one on one battles I could just go back to RBY or GSC and have twice the fun. RSE was just made for double battle fun!

Latias (Timid) w/ Leftovers - Psychic, Ice Beam, Dragon Claw, Calm Mind
Latios (Timid) w/ Soul Dew - Psychic, Thunder, Solarbeam, Dragon Claw
Kyogre (Timid) w/ Lum Berry - Surf, Ice Beam, Thunder, Protect
Regirock (Adamant) w/ Silk Scarf - Explosion, Ancientpower, Earthquake, Protect
Groudon (Hardy) w/ Lax Incense - Earthquake, Ancientpower, Flamethrower, Protect
Slaking (Adamant) w/ Choice Band - Hyper Beam, Earthquake, Shadow Ball, filler

Again, I haven't sunk my teeth too deep into FR LG yet, so I'll need a little more time to get Move Tutor stuff like everyone favorite Groudon / swords dance combo (personally, I really don't think it's worth it... a physical sweeper still needs a special attack to get around dudes with Counter, or beat other dudes with incredible Defense scores; especially the ever-popular Magneton since he gained Levitate).
Yeah, I'm pretty set on my team, all 'cept Regirock... I just love that Explosion. Anyone got something better, I'm open dudes!

Peace / out. Alternatives:
Jirachi (Stalemate nature) w/ Brightpowder - Water Pulse, Thunder, Doom Desire, Calm Mind
Registeel (Calm) w/ Leftovers - Amnesia, Iron Defense, Toxic, Rest
Rayquaza (Jolly) w/ Scope Lens - Fly, Earthquake, Extremespeed, Dragon Dance
Regice (Stalemate nature) w/ Nevermeltice - Ice Beam, Ancientpower, Brick Break, Earthquake
Salamence (Modest) w/ Scope Lens - Crunch, Hydro Pump, Flamethrower, Dragon Claw
Kingdra (Modest) w/ Leftovers - Double Team, Surf, Ice Beam, Dragonbreath

mmkay... for real, peace / out.
