Hitmontop

Why my Tyrouge won't evolve into Hitmontop? I keep breeding them but none evolve into Hitmontop.

re: Hitmontop

Here's how Tyrogue's evolutions work.

Hitmonlee: Attack > Defense at level 20
Hitmonchan: Attack < Defense at level 20
Hitmontop: Attack = Defense at level 20

Giving proteins & irons will help you. Though his stat gains are usually 1 in everything. I didn't give it anything and it worked out evenly. I have a level 52 Hitmontop now. I need to get a good moveset for it though...

Yeah. Mine has an obscenely high Sp.Def, while sporting a solid Def & Atk score. Speed at level 52 is still below 100, as well as Sp.Atk, but you don't need that anyway. Hp is somewhat average.

serebii movesets aren't very good for Pokemon. I have tried them and either smogon, PureStealth or myself have often made sets that work much better.

I would use:

Hitmontop @ Leftovers
- Bulk Up
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- High Jump Kick

-Mind Reader

re: Hitmontop

The problem with that is there are no Fighting moves on it and Mind Reader is pointless on any moveset unless it also incorporates Mean Look and a OHKO move (but that's just being cheap using a moveset like that). Counter could work on it though, although it would need a good Defence.

re: Hitmontop

How/Where can you get Dynamicpunch in the first place? No pokemon seem to learn it except Machamp, but he's essentially useless with it since he doesn't learn mindreader. >_>

You get Dynamic Punch on Emerald by Mossdeep city!

The problem with this is that you use MindReader and then the opponent switches out so as Dynamic Punch returns to 50% accuracy.

re: Hitmontop

Too bad I don't have Emerald. Dynamic Punch was a favorite of mine from G/S.

Well, it'd be useful if your foe only had one pokemon left.
