Blaziken is one of the 386 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Blaziken in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.

The name Blaziken is a portmanteau, using the words blaze, in reference to its type and the blazes on its wrists, and chicken, in relation to its first form, Torchic.

Blaziken is a tall, very humanoid being with distinctive avian qualities, large intent eyes, and a body imbued with potent fire abilities. It is avian in the sense that it has claws and talons on its hands and feet, and its face resembles a red bird-like mask. Red and beige feathers adorn all of its body. Also its legs vaguely resemble the pants of a martial arts uniform.
