anything SH5. what you wanna see in it,what you've heard about it,will there be it? Anything.

Not really much speculation to be had at this point, considering "The Room" is still pretty fresh, and there's no offical word yet on whether or not they're planning on a fifth installment (although I hope they are), but here goes...

First, they should switch back over to a female lead, although I'd imagine they'd have to work pretty hard to create a Survival Horror heroine with bigger brass ones than Heather. And I can't believe I'm using this term, but she completely PWNS the genre.

Second, they should keep the new analog character movement. As much fun as it is to brag to all your friends that you're the master of reverse D-PAD maneuvering, sometimes that method tends to wear down one's thumbs real quick-like.

i've heard through the rumour mill that the next installment will be a part of a "trilogy" to the 4th game.I've also heard that it would be about a guy in a mental institution recalling his experiences as he witnessed various horrors and demons take over silent hill.

I cannot varify if this is true of course,but i don't know how that would work,it would have to be based on flashbacks from the character and i don't see how that would involve exploring or battling through the game.It does sound a bit like what henry is going through,cause he is sort of "flashing back" to why walter did what he did,but this so-called patient is telling this story to a doctor so it kind makes me think as to how the devs would put that together.

neways,i love the silent hill series and some may be better than others but it's still an excellent way to waste time.I would love to see a female character kick butt again like heather,and maybye have some "boy toy" follow her around with a skanky outfit.

Hmm, well I've already ranted and raved at (Great) length about the technical aspects I'd like to see improved in SH5, but as for the story...Nothing concrete, but I'd really like to see them spend as much time on the depth of the story and characters as they did in SH2 (Yes, I do keep coming back to that game), and have the gameplay as harrowing and tight as in SH3. Oh and The Boss lady is right, D-Pad controls are horrible...

...as for the mental institution thing? that sounds a bit like that one film Identity...

silent hill....on PS3/XboxNext (i think that's the working name.)...god,i'm almost afraid to look at it. anyway,i REALLY hope they don't tell SH5 through flashbacks. knowing the character survives the ordeal is the quickest, most efficient killer of suspense what am. as far as characters go,here's an idea i've been kicking around my head for some reason: SH all-star jam. here's what i got,and if you don't like it, blame the waiting room i was in at the time. it's after SH4. James has remarried. Heather is now an adult. Henry has become a drifter due to extreme paranoia of any enclosed space. And Harry,like Space Ghost, is f**kin' dead. Laura is now the age Heather was in SH3, and has lost her bratty attitude. 4 silent hill survivors,called back for reasons undetermined. maybe their nemeses are too. i don't know. having anyone but pyramid head come back would seem too hokey for SH, and PH is excluded only because he doesn't seem to be one of a kind. on the good side of this idea, it brings back familiar characters,which many people would probably like, and because we already know the characters, there would be less need to develop them,so there could be online gameplay. plus,i don't know about all of you,but i kinda wanna know what happens to these people after they escape silent hill, after the ending plays. that was the good side,baby.here come the bad side. survival horror online is cool in theory, but i doubt it'll ever be done right. besides,SH is based on story,and the other players might skip scenes that they've seen before,but you haven't. also,again, we've already seen these characters. there's probably not much more development to them, and slowly unraveling their psyche is a big part of silent hill. there's no shocking plot twist in heather saying 'after i beat god, i went and played a joke on douglas. i've been working at taco bell ever since..',which is probably what happens.

here's something i wanna see in SH5: ghosts. not as enemies, just backgroud creepy things. imagine it: you're walking down a hallway. it's dark. not just dark,pitch-black except where your flashlight is pointing. you round a corner, and there to greet you is the ghost of a young girl who was obviously mudered in a very unpleasant way. she's covered in buises and cuts, but there's also a very obviously mortal wound, as in it's clear what she died of. she gives you some cryptic advice, or says something weird,then vanishes. wouldn't that be dope?! another thing i'd like to see is yo momma. lol

ohhh! yeah! like in "the sixth sense" that would be creepy,but the devs should bring back a little of the "old formula" like we see in sh2,not the whole but just some cause that game was mucho freeek.

i think it was mentioned in a thread a looong time ago about what people wanted to see in the next insatllement that is now sh4,i remember someone saying.."include the forest,and the hope house" so we got it,another mentioned was the prison and some mine or something..it would be neat to see when the disease hit everyone,how bad it got at the hospital when everyone was dying.

something about the natives or original inhabitants would be interesting,what happened to make them leave?

i'd like to see silent hill 5 take a few lessons from the shining, one of the creepiest movies i've ever seen. i think 4 would've been a lot scarier if eileen went crazy, maybe instead of posessed. like if you didn't take good care of her, she tries to kill you untill you put a holy candle in front of her. if an NPC follows you around in 5,i hope they do that.
oh,snap!i just had a cool idea! alright,check this,yo. you enter a door,right? and the camera shifts to looking down on you. BUT,every once in a while,the camera shakes and it follows you around very closely. there's also a weird sound as it follows you. like blades being pulled out of and pushed back into wood. plus a heavy breathing/hissing sound. once you go far enough, the camera shifts back and to side, revealing a monster whose eyes you've been looking through. ain't that the shiz-nite?

There Will Never Be Another True SH Game After SH3 I Think. Unless Konami Go Back To The Skill They Have That Created SH1 Then That Is The Only Way The Next Game Will Be Good. The Game Needs The Story Of SH2, The Horror Of The 1st Game And The Length Of The 3rd Game.

if they read these forums and follow it's contents, they'll have a top-selling game,i swear. but silentfan,that formula sounds like a definite winner to me.

My friends and i had an idea slightly like this for a story we were gonna create meant to be a videogame. I mean it would be creepy as hell. You're standing in a house and u just see like a little boy run across the living room and fade off. This crap would happen randomly and always at the wrong time. LIke walkin into a bathroom to see a ghost of a teenage girl cutting her wrists in the sink and fading away, yet the blood still stays there.

One of the things i hated about SH4 ws that it didnt feel like an adventure as the first three do since u get to wander around the town of silent hill. I mean thats a HUGE part of the game...actually BEING in silent hill, hence the name SILENT HILL!!

first and foremost, if you're still trying to make your story into a game,good luck. that thing about the woman in the bathroom sounds creepy.
second,althugh going to silent hill itself does help make sence of the title of the games, if we get to return in future games, i hope they'll either make less blind exploration needed,or make the town itself more intresting. silent hill is a creepy place, but foggy, nearly identical streets can only maintain a sense of eeriness for so long.

The flashbacks would work with what i have heard, somewhere it said that SH5 will be in all First Person view like everyone else has said i can't confirm that but it would wok with the flashback thing, i was thinking about that the other dsay as well.
