re: Donkey Kong Country vs Diddy's Kong Quest vs Dixie's Double Trouble |
quoteNo doubt that one's my favourite as well, first Donkey Kong game I played and I've been hooked on it ever since. Fantastic game, and although numbers two and even three were quite good, this one is just at the top of the barrel. It was the first Donkey Kong game, and it gave Nintendo another excellent character. Superb game. Number two would be second for me, it was good as well. I think Dixie's game wasn't as good though, quite mediocre. ------------------- Under account name Audacity.

I know, isn't the game just a beaut? Anyways, it was the first Donkey Kong Country game, but not the first Donkey Kong game. Now, the very first Donkey Kong game came out for either Atari 2600 (I have that one), or Colecovision. There are only two levels that keep on repeating themselves and each repeat of the two levels gets a little harder. The game probably goes on forever, buy hey, maybe there is an end to the game, at maybe the end of the 100th set of two levels or something. Anyways, this game came out in the year 1981. The system, Atari 2600 came out in the year 1977 and I believe the system Colecovision came out in the year 1980 or 1981.

Diddy's Kong Quest- It was challanging, the music was the best in the series.
Dixie's Double Trouble- Music wasn't as good, though I liked getting the banana birds, and the factory stages were fun. Donkey Kong Country- This was the least favorite of mine, I liked the water, cavern, and black out basement music, but the game wasn't as hard.

I haven't played 3 in soooo long so all I remember from it are the characters, the bosses, the method of travel, and the island in the ocean that rises.
1. Had awesome levels and I love the jungle song. Bosses were ok but kind of easy. Levels increased in difficulty as you progressed. 2. Ok Songs. The levels were crazy but they didn't really seem to get harder. Just a hard one there and a hard one there. Loved the fact that you can unlock the FINAL fight by completeing all of the lost world levels. I enjoyed the attempt to throw some teamwork in there. Out of the first two I'd have to say 1. But 2 was very very good. ------------------- ![]() Wooot! .hack//GU Vol 1!!! http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=281534

DKC2 wuz the best of them all. great challenges, perfect difficulty, awesome atmosphere, and diddy + dixie, my 2 fav characters. DKC3 was also awesome, but lost a bit of my vote because of the treasure hunting aspect. (banana birds, brother's bear) and the enemies didn't have the same "buzzang!" (the bees were no longer bees but cartoonish bugs with chainsaws on their backs, and you COULD kill the red ones). DKC didn't really do it for me. IT was too hard, and the bonus levels weren't the same as the other games.a little dull. but still an awesome game to play! I just don't like being donkey kong that much. DK64 (if we're including that) was okay, but hard! I haven't beaten it yet.

I Think DKC2 was the best of all three it would have been even iller if Donkey Kong was a playable character in it then it would have just smashed all of them even though it already does

I think 1,2,3 is my order. Also u can get 105% on DK3 if u put on cheat mode + put in HARDR.
This can be done as I have got it.

I think it's DKC, DKC2 + DKC 3 in order.
I think that's the way to go if we're putting the soundtracks in order as well. Plus I like the way they increased the % you could get with each game, 101% in DKC, 102% in DKC2 and 105% in DKC3. ------------------- ![]()

The second one was the best. There were more collectibles to get and more memorable areas/music than the other two games. I don't know how to explain it, but the third one just felt like it didn't have the magic of its predecessors...as if it wasn't made by the same team.

I've never played Diddy Kong's Quest or Dixie's Double Trouble. I've only played the first Donkey Kong Country.

Diddy's Kong Quest- It was my favorite game for a long time. Introduced currency, had the best music of the series, and my favorite character was in the leading role, Diddy Kong. It also had the best enviroments. Carnival, swamp, haunted forest. I love this game, and it gets first place.
Dixie's Double Trouble- My second favorite Kong makes his first appearance, Kiddy Kong. I also like how Dixie got to be the leader. The bosses were the best of the series, and waterfall and underwater stages were great. The music was great, as always. This game is awesome, and is the second best of the series. Donkey Kong Country- This is my least favorite. It's great, but just not as good as the others. The music is great, the levels are fun, but the bosses are the worst of the series. I don't care for Donkey either.
