hey i upgraded to vista a while ago and i found manhunt the other day, installed it and all, but i keep getting a stop work error when i try to execute it. anybody know of a patch or solution to get it working on vista (ultimate). any help would be appreciated

It is because Manhunt is not programmed for vista. Just like how some windows 98 games don't work on xp. so u will have to ethier go back to xp or just not play it sorry guys

is there anyone that has any idea what to do with this subject yet? nothing works so far i have tried compatibility mode and still no luck. i really want this game to work.... ARGH!!

From what i've been reading on different forums it seems more like a 32-bit vista problem...lot of ppl who have the 64-bit vista don't have any issues with it running.

I don't know who those people are, but I have Win Vista Ultimate x64, and that blasting DEP(Data Execution Protection) keeps stopping it. It's futile trying to remove the games from DEP, it just won't allow it. The only solution I see, is to disable DEP altogether. It shouldn't pose a big problem, I mean XP worked fine without it.

It should work after u turn it off (if it doesn't turn DEP back on!!).

just install XP with vista.. add a new partition and install windows xp. that's what i did. manhunt plays on xp. i get the same message on vista.. make it Duel boot. simple and comes in handy with spots like that

go to google
type in "freeware hex editor

click the one that says freeware hex editor xvi32. go to download. click "here"done!!!! now it shud be a zip file.
so u need 7 zip orwinzip.i use 7 zip as it is free!!!post a comment and i will tell u where to download it.ok moving on.open the zip file.u shud see xvi32.exe.double click xvi32.exe u shud come out wif this grid thingy. now remember wat happen wen i try to play manhunt. yea now,go to file and open ur manhunt shortcut.

u shud get this wierd stuff.
now press ctrl+g to activate the "go to" menu. click hexadecimal and type in"08DE"IN CAPITAL LETTERS.now u shud see 6A.click it and change it to 2A in capital letters.done close it

save it.now watch wat happens. yeaaaaa!!!click play and enjoy!!!! god bless you guyz!!!
