PM me with the information, guides, etc. I'll keep it all organized in a seperate folder so don't lose the info. XD
I'm going to be creating some basic profession guides over the next few days, then move onto some a detailed guide for creating good and useful builds. ------------------- But where was it when I first heard a sweet sound of humility?
It came to my ears in the goddamn loveliest melody. How grateful I was then to be part of the mystery, to love and to be loved. Let's just hope that is enough.

I can help with Mesmer builds.
I'll seperate them into PvE and PvP. Obviously specific builds of specific areas (ember) and PvP areas like say... random arenas. I'll post an FAQ or post here or in teh build focus thread. ------------------- http://www.loudandfrench.com

I'm interested in contributing to the Portal, but there seems to be no collection of "this needs to be done, but these others are being taken on by other members" items. If you could either edit the first post with a compilation of what is actually being progressed upon by the staff and other contributors, post one in the NeoPortal Requests and Planning, or PM me a copy, I'd be appreciative.
Thanks in advance. | |

gdog just made me realize, we haven't even layed down everything we're definitely put in this portal yet.
After we do that, we can properly assign everyone their task, to keep it more organized. I guess just post suggestions of what should been in there, whether your staff or not, and if a majority of people here agree it should be in then let it be so. Somethings I think we'll need (and have already discussed some) are:

I was thinking mission guides would be a good idea too, but not so much quest guides; maybe for a few, but most are quite self-explanatory and not to hard to figure out the correct path. It'd probably be a waste of time gathering all the information we need too.

Mission guides would be a lot more helpful.
But Quest guides would also be of great help... but only if it is the harder ones: Can anyone say Villainy of Galrath? Most level 20's can't solo this unless they run through it all, and that's only if they succeed in running in the first place. We should cover all the mission, and we should cover the important quests. The ones with a lot of experience, or the ones that unlocks new skills. Once again I can cover Mesmer for specific skills for perticular areas, I'll post in a new thread soon. ------------------- http://www.loudandfrench.com

I'll be honest with you. A partial listing of quests is pretty lame. When it comes down to it, you do all or none, because incomplete data sets suck and everyone knows it. Sure it'll be tedious to do some of the easier ones such as killing a few scales or Travelling back to an area to deliver a message, but at least they will be there.

I have a better idea... the easier, self-explanatory ones, why don't we just copy the quest name, who you get it from and where that person is, the objectives, and the reward? No point in saying "go to this place blah blah blah" since they'd already know that. Putting the actual quest up would allow people to see what they have to do before they do it.
And for the objectives part, I mean all the objectives, including the ones you gain as you get farther in the quest. ------------------- But where was it when I first heard a sweet sound of humility?

Adding in what types and the levels of monsters you would be facing on the quest would be nice.

I think a better way to implement that would be to take all the territories across Tyria and record what enemies (and a bit of info them) are in each of these areas. Then, instead of writing the same things for multiple quests taking place in the same area, we can just put a reference link to that part of the portal in each quest.

An enemy listing would be good, but we should also have "essential" suggested skills to go with that.
For example, for the Storm Riders, they tend to use Cry of Frustration (an interrupt) in a spam-like manner. Counter? Backfire. Since usually enemy mesmers are 'basically' impossible to interrupt. or in Ember, Mantra of Flame, or Cold dmg weapons (for rangers spirit of winter) in conjuction with mantra of frost. I mean I thought it was common sense to use Fire vs Ice, or Light/smiting vs the Undead, but appearantly, it's not that common at all. Even though you obviously get a huge dmg bonus out of it. ------------------- http://www.loudandfrench.com

re: Guild Wars Wiki Discussion |
quote Seventh BladeI've seen the like before, and in my opinion it's not very user friendly. Most users want all the information for the quest on one page, not to have to cross-reference a large map against what is said in the guide about 50 times.

re: Guild Wars Wiki Discussion |

The reference wouldn't be a map, just an enemy listings for all the areas you would visit on that quest. This way we don't have to put it in on every quest page within those areas, just provide the link and they'd see everything. Plus, then it would have a large loading time everytime you just want to view a quest page.
Also, what we should on the portal is listings of all the Traders/Skill Trainers in Tyria and what they sell. Maybe even a listings of all collectors; that would be very useful. EDIT: Also, I'm going to add Soldier to the portal staff, since I can assure he is quite reliable, and DV Morpheus barely stops around here anymore. ------------------- But where was it when I first heard a sweet sound of humility?

I know what you're talking about, and it could work like that I suppose. I'm just opposed to having to open any more pages than possible to figure out how the quest is done, and what you're going to be fighting along the way.
Doing a list of all the collectors would be hard, they're everywhere. >_< I've no opposition if someone wants to take the time though. I'll begin work on the Pre-searing quests if no one else has that tackled yet. Note: You spelled Soldier wrong in the first post.
