From my understanding... it's yours. Nobody from my knowledge is working on any of the skills right now.

Well in that case why don't I just do all the skills. Unless someone objects, I'll start working on skill guides now.

Can anyone tell me how this portal is doing? I've been waiting for news on how it's been going for a while now, but so far, no news.

Anyone else in the mood for one of those good old work-inspiring resurrections?
This portal has been dead since nearly the week after it started, and I can see why. MMORPG portals are a lot of tedious work. And they usually require a pretty hefty-sized, which we sadly didn't have. Right now, the status of the portal is that we have barely enough info to compete with a blank page. And even if we start up work now, odds are we it won't be released until maybe a couple months before Guild Wars II comes out, or possibly even after. And as great GW was, to many it's been getting boring lately, and I'm sure most players will be switching over from the old game to the new one. So what I'm proposing is that once there is a solid release date on GW2 (I'm estimating late '08-early '09), we, a couple months before it hits the market, re-prepare a large team to take on GW2, and get as much info up as soon as it's released (or open beta, if they have one, which is likely). That way, we'll actually have a competitive edge on other sites, since we'll be at the start of the game. We'll need some heavy dedication, but does anyone else agree on such a thing and holding off the original Guild Wars until later? (it can be gradually added on)

I wasn't even aware we had a portal, heh. I do agree that the Guild Wars community is pretty much asleep at the moment and it probably won't wake up until we start to see a steady stream of information on GW2. I'm assuming you want both games in the same neoportal, in which case I don't see why we couldn't start them both at the same time (there probably won't be enough GW2 info to fill a portal until after it's released).

I agree to do both, but I think our main focus should be obtaining as much info Guild Wars 2 as possible, starting once it goes into open beta. That has been said to start late next year, with the official release the in late '09/early '10. That will give us a competitive edge, though we have plenty of time to get back into work on the original (I didn't release GW2 wasn't coming out for so long).

I personally like the idea, and if you guys can manage it it would be awesome. I do think work will need to be done on Guild Wars for a while, but if you can get a large group of people to join onto a team and get them ready to take on Guild Wars quickly and early. Neoseeker's never been all that great and getting activity early and quickly for new games, since it's usually weeks until something is released.

I second the Guild Wars 2 bit.
Considering we started on the portal during Faction's initial release we had a lot of catchup... not to mention understaffed. Now that there's three chapters, and the expansion, there's nearly no way that is it worthwhile finishing the GW portal, I say we scrap it, and start on GW2. ------------------- http://www.loudandfrench.com

I don't think we should scrap GW, maybe we should just put it back-burner, work on it when there's no news on GW 2.

Restarting activity on the Guild Wars already out. If you seek to contribute, and actually have the minuscule will-power required to add at least one article per week, then post what you have a drive to do.

I see we have someone attempting to do it all himself. Well, last I checked, this is a community project, and FYI, I've been working over the last months on various guides. Ranger skill guides and builds are almost done, as well as the male armor guide.
tl/dr version: I'm doing the skill guides. This is not a question. ------------------- ![]() Thanks VERY much to Robert Ninja for the banner! Join the RP today!

Guys, is anyone interested in helping develop the Guild Wars NeoWiki? I totally agree with you, Joseph Leito, that this is a community project. As far as I can see, I'm basically the only one interested in helping out. Could anyone else participate in helping construct the NeoWiki? If we get at least three committed people, I'm sure we could form a staff of some sort. Please, post in this thread if you are interested in helping. I'd really like to make this NeoWiki one of the best on the site.
