Ali wins this match hands down. The pure power puncher has never been a match for a skilled boxer. There is no doubt about Mike's hand speed and power, but I his foot work is questionable. Also, Mike, though intelligent, can be frustrated. Ali's ability to move and avoid punches is enough to beat a stalker like Mike. Toss in Ali's uncanny ability to throw combinations of punches and it equates to a long night for Mike. About the only way I give Tyson any chance against Ali is in a very small ring with little room for movement.

I can't believe that I agree with you after our heated debate in the tito thread like you said Tyson was not dumb he was quite calculating. Tyson intimidated many of his opposition and ali wouldn't have been any different not only were some of ali's fights fixed he also received gifts from the judges. Tyson in his prime was a well oiled machine with a erfect bbalance of speed power and body movement that would've destroyed ali.

You believe what the media want's you to believe as someone else said ali never faced anyone like TYSON ali is not the G.O.A.T. recordwise or pound for pound. TYSON was more intimidating than Foreman stronger than Liston every generation of fighters just keeps getting better better Lennox Lewis only has 2 losses which he avenged. You never know what can happen in boxing for all we know john Ruiz could've domintated Cooper, Frazier,and the other elites of the time. Prime Tyson would destroy ali ali was nothing special the judges favored him in several fights he "won" like Frazier and Norton II. As sum1 mentioned ali never fought anyone like Tyson and he wasn't as dumb as you think he would jab away at taller fighters before he went in for the kill and he had the ability to weave in and out of punches to get on the inside and cut off the ring.

I cant believe I didnt see this earlier. Ali would dismantle Tyson. Has anyone seen George Foreman fight in his prime? He hits just as hard as Tyson and he's a MUCH smarter fighter. well Ali's victory over Foreman was incredible considering
no one has done that to George even in his old age.don't forget though, Frazier had more success with Ali, Tyson's style is more similiar to that.

in all honesty i haven't seen enough of either of these two fight o really make a perfect guess. but the way i see it is even though ali experienced much stiffer competition in his prime he actually boxed ppl who were better than him in some ppl's eyes like frazier and foreman.

tyson however was swift and to the point, he simply didn't believe he could be hurt, and for much of his career that was the case, that is unitl he ran into buster douglas... he knocked everyone out and had power that i just can't believe anyone could have ever matched in ali's time.

obviously i know muhc more about tyson than ali, buti don know that ali was flawed in skill but very intelligent, tyson on the other hand was damn near perfect because u couldn't capatilize on his mistakes. and if you did it seemed to just make him madder. he was a freak.

Here is the deal men, In Ali's prime the only man to beat him was Joe Frazier. Joe is a simular Mike Tyson BUT Mike is much more of a technician puncher AND boxer!! The only man to take Mike the distance was Whitherspoon. I HAVE THE TAPE TO PROVE IT!! And even then IN HIS PRIME MIKE was fresh the WHOLE fight. When this comes up among friends i have have shown them the tape. They then could see that IF ALI TYSON WOULD HAVE WENT THE DISTANCE TYSON WOULD HAVE WON. ALI running and moving and attmpting to counterpunch would have been ALI's demise. Ali Never faced a man with the speed and power and skill of a {PRIME} Tyson. Tyson with Kevin Rooney was unbeatable.
