does anyone know if a patch as being released yet i have a top spec pc but still the game runs dodgly

Um, ok this isn't a technical problem, I'm just inexperienced.
Would anyone please be able to tell me how I 'scroll' the text faster when people talk? It's annoying how slow it goes! I have the PC version..

Rachael15, important dialogue can't be skipped, but non-important dialogue (like if you buy stuff or talk to NPCs can be displayed immediately with the cancel button (B). Hope I'm right, and hope that helps.

Same thing for me. It works sometimes, but 90% of the time I cast Zap or the "Fallen Wings" move it crashes and kicks me out to the Desktop. It works fine otherwise. I have the latest directx and video card drivers. And I've downloaded the codecs some one else mentioned but unfortunatly no dice. I'm running Win Xp-SP2, AMD Duran 1.8Ghz, Nvidia GeForce4-MX440. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

switching resolutions and bit depths seem to have some effect on the game, also try using older drivers. I have geforce440mx as well and the 40s seem to work okay. I have this one weird problem though, like most people the shadows are weird and some textures don't overlap properly in most resolutions. switching to 1024x768 32 bit fixes all of this for some odd reason, but it breaks the video playback. All of the other resolutions hte movies look fine but in this mode the movies are shown in double and at really messed up colors... weird isn't it? any ideas?

Yes, I also have the battle sounds not working... Is there a fix for this issue?

For those who are experienced problems with "Zap!", "Fallen Wings" and the other moves that require a video file, I want to share my experience.

When I cast one of those spells or special moves I was always given a "Visual C++ Runtime Error": after several tries to fix this I've come to a solution.
My problem was that the video files contained in folder "btl" have no audio: thus I created a 20 sec mute audio and applied it to all movie files in that folder using VirtualDub. Although I don't know why now I don't experience any of those problems anymore!

Howto fix black screen hang after loading:

As somebody mentioned, You need to have Indeo codecs to play the game. To get them, install K-Lite codec pack 2.50 full, select "Profile 1: default" and check the box labeled "Indeo" (this will check all four codecs, I didn't bother to check which ones are needed). After the installation ends, check if You can view the file VISUAL/mCG01.avi in media player. If it's playing, it means it's good to go.

To skip the logos at start, press f9.

ive tried the default window codecs solution, but it hasnt worked, im running on XP Pro SP1, Athlon XP 1900+, GeForce FX 5200, and 512MB DDR RAM

Like everybody here, there are some probleme with my Grangia 2 videos.

I want to know if everybody who have probleme with videos in the game have a real CD version or a backup?

Maybe it can be THE problem..

UH! I give up. I tried to fix this @!T$#@@ game for 1:30 hour. My problem is that after the "Gamearts" logo, the game closes by itself.

I found something though. In your vms folder, if you delete (or send it to hell, any folder) a file named "sorted.idx" the game works and you have the new game and load game options. However, when you start a new game, an error comes out.

That's all I could do and I think I will throw this game right into the trash bin.

Maybe this game doesn't have any problem with Win98??? Please someone test it! If it works tell us!
