How do you rate the old level based Castlevania games against the new ones, where you just explore the one area the whole time.

Of course, the newer ones play much better than the older ones, but the older ones were great in their own right. I wouldn't be as interested in Castlevania as I am today if I didn't enjoy playing all of the classic ones back then.

I'd rather play an old school Castlevania than any of the 3D ones. Except Simons Quest, that one *bleep*. This is my 2nd favorite Castlevania game, Symphony of the Night being my favorite.

imo this was the only really good castlevania besides I and III. Every other one was pretty much shitty. I wish Konami would make another one and stick to its roots like they did with this one. I have to say this game is probably my favorite one from the snes console, I just never seem to get sick of it.
