I really didn't care much for the ones that came after the Sega Genesis (although I have yet to play any Sega CD sonics). Sonic 3 would be my favorite followed by Sonic 2 and Sonic and Knuckles.

Sonic 2 is my favorite. I don't care much for the post-Genesis games either.

sonic 1(genesis),sonic 3 and knuckles(lock-on genesis),sonic adventure(dreamcast)((even though i never owned one i like that version better),sonic adventure 2 (dreamcast and my faveorite game ever),i kinda like heroes(gamecube)but sonic adventure 2 is my true favorite !
