	quote El Bastarde Yes, I suppose its a fine bit of foreshadowing. Just seems like a strange way to do it. It also didn't have as big an effect since most RPGs NEVER kill off any of the main characters so I just assumed that she'd come back later on in the story (after all, Cloud sure does!). I guess I was more shocked at the END of the game, when I realized we really wouldn't be getting her back. I dunno...I was way more impressed with the storytelling in FF6, FF9 and FFTactics than in this one. Even FF8 and FFX-2 had way more likeable characters. Stevo It's rare but it does offer great plot twists. I mean they did it in Legend of Dragoon, kinda did it in FFX at the end. Plus in games like Suikoden and FFT you can lose characters but not storywise and the character depth is not great. FFIX's storyline was simple, a little too simple for me. FF8's was way more confusing then FF7, not sure how you prefer it over FF7. FFT's was a masterpiece ahead of it's time in games. Sadly not a lot of people like it because of difficulty and graphics. ------------------- べつに

	Well I think FF4 (FF2) is the best one. That was my first SNES RPG and it was great then and it is still great today. -------------------

	I said FF4 was my first Super Nintendo RPG - for Nintendo it was Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior. -------------------

	Oh okay, I misread it. Still it was a fine game, many chose it as one of the best, I certainly enjoyed it. Still I just found FF7 overall better with depth previously unseen in an RPG. ------------------- べつに

	I've never played FF7 because I could never find it... No stores ever carried it, but I've got FF8 and that game is fantastic - great storyline and great gameplay! I even got the maximum Gil. -------------------

	I never played it when it came out because I didn't own a Playstation console then... In the 1997/98/99 time period, I was an N64 gamer. -------------------

	quote DQ Maniac Oh really? Check, Page 2 of this thread, around five posts down. It's the long one. I rank all the FF games I've played and I put FF7 in dead last. It's really the only FF game that actually pissed me off as I played it. I'll admit though...I'm in the minority when I say this, though I'd say at least 75% of the folks who hail FF7 as the best ever never played any of the older ones and doesn't know where this genre came from. I'm old school (I still have a working Intellivision) so maybe that's why. Stevo
