re: Question on ball lie. |

The ball lie will change the ball's flight trajectory. Look at the ball after a particular shot. If you notice that it is on a slope (side to side), the ball will fly in the direction of the slope. It will either be pushed left or right depending on the slope. You must compensate for this by changing the direction of the shot. If you notice the ball is on a downhill or an uphill slope then that will affect the height of the ball. A ball laying on a downslope will fly much lower, therefore lessening the distance in which it will fly. A ball laying on an incline will have a higher trajectory, and will therefore travel farther. Choose an appropriate power to compensate for this. The yellow and blue lines on the top and side of the golf ball diagram BASICALLY indicate how much spin is able to be put on the ball, GRANTED that you have perfect impact. Basically, the longer the blue and yellow lines, the more ability you will have to spin the ball. You will notice that obviously the greatest spin on a ball will happen from the tee, and strangely enough, a rock. That wouldn't be too nice for the club though. Spin and curve are also dependent on the character you choose, but I'm sure you already know that. I hope this helps | |
