re: Damn I love this game!

Welcome Cheatsy. I'm glad you like GGi as much as I do. If you like GGi this much, then you should definitely check out Guilty Gear x2 and the updated version, Guilty Gear x2 #Reload. It's 2d fighting at it's best.

Stick around and don't be afraid to ask any GG related questions. I'll be more then happy to answer.

re: Damn I love this game!

I'd like to get it, but its a bit of a hassel to import. Especially on my low budget. Only way I am getting this game is because I'm getting it for Christmas.

I know GGXX:Reloaded is on Xbox also. But I have no plans to ever own an Xbox.

GGx2#reload should be coming to the states. I'm not 100% sure though. Anyway, you could still get the original GGx2 on ps2. That is, if you can find it.

I don't blame ya, as far as guilty gear goes. u would have to get a controler coverter too.

yeah try GGXX like metal man sugested. it should be very cheap by now! I would check around ebay or some other online stores for it. then later on if you like it enough you could move on up to #R (its Reload btw)

acualy Isuka probly has most of the changes of #R, you should be just fine playing this for a while if you can stand the turn button.

re: Damn I love this game!

The turn button annoyed me for the first two or three matches, but after that I got use to it real quick.

I'll try and hunt down a copy of GGXX as soon as I get some cash. By the way, what exactly are the differences between GGXX and GGXXReload? Is it really worth getting both?

re: Damn I love this game!

lots of changes to the fighting engine actualy. dizzy has 3 new FRCs, faust's f.S>sweep is no longer a gatlin, going my way no longer arcs. Johnny has shorter recovery on mist finer, extended jump start up frames with johnny sol and maybe with all characters stuff like that? FRCs and RCs are shaded instead of plain looking. over all gamespeed I think increased by 1.5 and new character robo ky. The music is exactly the same as XX except for the korean version which also has a new background

... so in short; 3 #reload has minor character changes and a whole new version of robo-ky. The korean version has a new background as well? Lucky Bastards. I wish the states got as much love.

re: Damn I love this game!

I bought this game last weekend, but I can't get into it as much as my beloved Guilty Gear X and XX.

First of all, the turn button sucks. I know you can get used to it, but why even put the damn thing in there at all for one on one matches?

Second, there are no instant kills! That was one of the coolest things in Guilty Gear! Even though they weren't that important for game strategy, they looked really cool.

Third, there's no analog function? What's up with that? A PS2 2D fighting game where you have to use the d pad just doesn't make sense. Or is there a way to use it that I just don't know?

Fourth, the soundtrack is OK, but there should be more songs on it. Why doesn't each character have their own music anymore? At least holy orders? is still around.

Fifth, no real arcade mode, it's more like survival mode. And the boost mode kind of sucks, even though I like Final Fight type stuff.

I still like the game itself, it's just kind of disappointing because I was expecting more. My friend hates the game even more than me, he said it looks like SNES. But then again, he sucked at the other GG games too. Now I have some questions I hope someone can help me with:

Leopaldon, what is a good strategy for him? It's hard to beat a guy where you can't attack him low. I can beat him, but I need a good strategy where I don't get beat up a lot.

And, what's the deal with Robo Ky and RK 2? Can you pick the RK 2 you modify in arcade mode, or is he not available there? You can pick either Robo Ky 1 or 2 in training mode.

re: Damn I love this game!

Roboky 2 is meant for you to customize him in the robo ky 2 factory and use him in versus mode to face your friends. (Other players can use their own RK2 against yours using different Memory cards as well.)

If you haven't tried out RK factory yet, you should. Not only it has a surprising level of depth in it, but it's pretty much the only way you'll have any fun single player wise since Arcade Mode is somewhat of a bust.

As far as the turn button goes; it was designed for you to aim attacks, quickly counter opponents jumping overhead, and running away from a crowded situation quicker. It's pretty easy to misjudge the importance of the turn button, but keep practicing; you'll find its benefits once you really start to dissect it.

Sorry, I had to drop out for a sec there.

The IKs were dropped for this game because they were too many situations that an IK could have been use cheaply. For example: One character can get and opponent into a gattling combo while their partner performs an inescapable IK directly behind them. Character wise, Dizzy could use one of her many floats to throw the opponent into Johnny's IK range while he's performing the move.

The IK could have been taken advantage of in many cheap situations, so Arc decided to drop them out for this game to make sure that every match was equally leveled. Especially with 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 matches.

Besides, and IK cinematic would of just caused more confusion to a game that already has too much of it, don't you think?

I couldn't agree more. Right Anti-bluz?

That's hardly possible. With four characters on the screen, whose song would the game play? It's now based off of the levels, which is probably the only thing they could have done.

As far as holy orders? is concerned; I still have no idea why they kept that track.

What character do you like to use? I had to dust off my Ino skills to beat her/him/it/whatever (or what skills I pretend to have with her )

re: Damn I love this game!

I've tried the RK2 factory. It is pretty cool, I like seeing Robo Ky do strange moves like Applause for the victim. Too bad most of my friends don't like GG, or I would use RK to fight them.

I am getting used to the turn button, too. I was playing yesterday and it's becoming more natural to press it and turn around. It's still a little confusing sometimes, though.

You made a very good point about the instant kills. I didn't think of that. It would be quite easy to get someone in a combo and then have a partner IK them from behind. So it is probably a good thing they took them out for this game.

As for the soundtrack, it wouldn't have been too hard to just pick one character at random to have their music playing. Like if you were Sol and fighting against Ky and Faust, at random it could be any one of those 3. Or if you are playing arcade mode it could any one of your opponents.

And I like holy orders? for some strange reason. It sounds so cool when it's all distorted like that. I'm glad they kept it in.

For Leopaldon, I've only been able to beat him so far with people like Testament and May, by abusing the HS button, but the match looks like crap and I get beat up a lot. My favorite characters to use are Axl, Venom, and probably Sol and I-no as well. What strategy did you use to beat him with I-no?
