i feel so dumb asking this question - but i am not all that computer savvy & this is the first game i have ever played - believe it or not.

i want to buy another cd key in order to transfer items.
first i thought it was an easy solution. but just how does that work. is the obvious escaping me. i just cant imagine how you are able to open two charactors in order to transfer.

i have searched for an answer to this & not found anything yet. have no one else to ask.

You'll need a program like d2loader to run multiple sessions of the game. Basically you can input multiple CD keys into the program and it will run separate sessions of the game simultaneously. Keep in mind though, it is not one of the approved programs by Blizzard, so use it at your own risk.

omg....thank you SOOOOO much for your answer. this one has been bothering me for a while now & i was sure no one would bother to answer.

have yet to buy anything for this insane game, aside from the initial program, so now i am still so proud of myself for not caving in. theres no way im gonna put my charactors at risk by using a cd key now...it took too long to get them where they are.

Btw most people who use d2loader are not in it for the transferring. They mostly use it for bots. So if the main reason you want a second CD key is for transferring, you can easily solve that problem by making more friends. I don't know how many people still play these days, but I'm sure there are still some nice people online willing to help out the newbies. If you become friends with someone rich, you can leech off them to get started quickly.

Blizzard seems to be cracking down pretty hard on people using D2loader for whatever reason at the moment. I know personally of 5 people, including myself, who have gotten a 30 day temp ban for using D2loader in the past month or two. So really, I would either try and transfer the items with a friend or if you feel like taking the risk, do a self-transfer.

Well that sucks. But at least you didn't get perm banned on your acct or even your cd key. I guess they've finally had enough. Could this mean they are nearing the completion for D3? One can only hope lol.

Tbh by looking the way SC2 is going this far, I seriously doubt D3 will come out next year.
