re: MVC2 teams...

Well for me I started out with a very easy but "WINNING" team: Called Team Scrub: Sentinel, Cable, Captain Commando.

After two years expereince with that I switched up to Storm, Sentinel, Capcom(Santhox)

Choke Off That Everybody

re: MVC2 teams...

Your teams are all impressive. But useless against magneto and psylock. I dont really care whos the third member. i can beat most opponents with these two alone. but if im pissed of, i just use cable

re: MVC2 teams...

In my experience, there are a few types of MvC2 players.

Powerhouses - Use the powerful characters such as Cable, Cyclops, Thanos, Iron Man, Magneto, Hulk, Juggernaut, ect. These people usually tend to have little to no experience with actual gameplay and mostly stick to simple, cheap maneuvers to win.

Cheap-asses - Resort to using infinate combos, as they have no useful gameplay experience or finesse. These people can often be seen using characters like Marrow, Rogue, wolverine, Shuma Gorath, Strider, and spiderman. These people will also have backup characters with a beam super/beam projectile simply to add chipping damage or as a cheap way to open up turtling opponents.

Smash! - These individuals just mash buttons. They can use anybody, and it doesn't matter as they usually lose.

Opportunists - These people fight fairly, but you have to earn your hits on them. They strike when they see a valid opening, or a chance to make one, and then zip away to save themselves from retaliaion. They are often a challenge for more experienced fighters, and they can easily hold thier own against the first three Gamer classes.

Jokers - Rely on the joke value of thier character to lul thier opponent into a false sense of victory and then pummel them senseless with the one or two good moves that character has. These people use Servbot, Roll, Dan and Amingo.

Champions - Earn thier combos legitimately, fight fairly (without using cornering/chipping tactics) and enjoy the opportunity to test thier skills rather than the victory itself.

Illusionists - using fients and trickery, they fool the opponent into thinking about one course of action, and then take another. (example, pummeling them with high kicks, then when you block high for a high kick, they sweep in low with a crouching roundhouse.) This is a legitimate style, though the degree of trickery often dictates how well the fighter is recieved.

Master - Knows everything about the character they play and plays them accordingly. They usually avoid mainstream characters like the Powerhouse characters and go for someone who's just more fun. People in this category can often be seen using Psylocke, Spiral, Jill, Felicia, Megaman, Ryu, Morrigan, Ruby Heart and Tronne Bonne.

So far, on this board, I have seen 2 masters, 1 illusionist, 1 champion, 2 jokers, and the rest are all powerhouses and cheap asses.

re: MVC2 teams...

Also; Any character in the hands of a master can be lethal, I am making generalizations like this because masters usually don't PREFER powerhouse characters because they are TOO easy to win with. A true master will choose somebody who ISN'T a God. My advice is that if you want to be taken seriously in MvC2 combat, avoid the powerhouses and stick to characters that can actually fight, not just blast the hell out of stuff. And on a final note; you don't have to always win to be a master. you just have to know every nuance of a character, every move, every frame, every recovery time, EVERYTHING. I am a master with Morrigan. There may be more masters on this board, but none that use powerhouses. They're too easy to master, so they don't count. Try someone like Sonson instead of War Machine or Magneto.

re: MVC2 teams...

ok you guy's have good teams but mines takes the cake

morgan : she has great combos and fast supers, and if the heat is on you can play keep away by using projectiles in the air, she can stay up there forever, the longest out of all the players and that can confuse opponents.
strider: he takes damage like a mf, but he is on of the best in terms of strengh and speed. his hits have priority over almost anyone. so it's easy to keep an enemy pinned down. but a few good combos and it's over.
last but not least megaman: he's my best character, i would basically call myself the best megaman player out there. enough biggin myself up, the best thing about megaman is his unlimited potential. he can charge his gun to and amount of hits, and if hit by a well charge shot he can leave a huge opening for one big three person super. and while charging he still has plenty of weapons to use to distract your opponent from the charge shotbut once hit there in for a big surprise BAM!!

re: MVC2 teams...

i did like to play everyone one day. but its quite dificult to meet any of u guys. xcept we stay in same country. =-) anyway, blue ghost, morigan is can not stay on the air longest. dahlsim is the only character that can stay up air 4ever. er.. that is juz for your information. and if u use megaman, use the ball more often. it has great priority.

Hmm... avoid powerhouse? im all-rounder. n... if u say avoid powerhouses, i will use wolvy/gambit/bonerine heh heh... joe zaza's team. lol. its funny to see people lose to this team. but this team needs to use alot of brain.

Hmm... im juz bored... so i juz come here to post something. heh heh. anyway, cya guys~

re: MVC2 teams...

hanzo i do use megaman's ball if the stituatin calles for it. i still hold myself as the best megaman player out there, and if i aint the best i'm the closest one. i use all the move he has but u can't just throw things and hope to hit a target, u have to now what you can do with each move the character has and that only come with experience i've been useing megaman since i saw the tiny blue warrior in the frist mvc and i know his move front to back and what to use on every opponent so belive me i know what i'm doing. as for morgan well i guess i was exagerating a bit with the whole stay up there the longest thing but u know what i mean.
