I like to use Rhys and Mist. Both great units, IMO.
Who could disagree? -------------------

Soren.
A few sages littered through your party who can spend a turn healing if need be is great. Especially when they revert to magick when attacked.

Well yeah, if last chapter and trial maps was all that mattered then I guess Soren would fit the bill. Would have thought he'd be attacking more often than healing, but eh, why not?
Kinda why questions that revolve around endgame usefulness only are a bit redundant though, because Soren's not going to be fulfilling healer duties before he promotes and he won't be as good at it until he's boosted a few stave ranks afterwards. One way or another I'd think you would have a primary healer already, in much the same way Elincia's not getting a spot (well, except she's much worse as at least Soren can fulfill an attacker role prior to that). -------------------

3 levels is a lot of time to level somebody up. I think the one time I trained i went into the last level with her as lvl. 14, 2 of them being bexp. Mind you, she still wasn't great.

re: Best Healer in the Game |

Abusing Physics every single turn you'd have to use up about 64 turns to get her to level 14. Level 12 is 55 turns, and that's if you healed with her every single turn with a physic (bear in mind that some turns there won't be anyone to heal and your physic supply probably won't last that long, so realistically it may take even longer).
BEXP? What about the rest of the army who exist for more than 3 chapters and could actually benefit you if they receive BEXP? There's no reason to give BEXP to someone who exists for so little time and is only margainly better in stats to the other two primary healers when at equal levels. Getting Elincia on par with the army is not impossible but it's impractical and not worth the return. -------------------

Clean up kills = a lot more exp then physics.

Yes but Elincia's attack strength is horrible. 18 base attack is low. 22 attack at Lv14 is still horrible. Doing 2x attacks doesn't matter when she's so weak. She doesn't so much clean up but has to be gifted kills.
Original point still stands. Getting Elincia on par with the army is not impossible but it's impractical and not worth the return. I still don't get why you would even bother. Both Rhys and Mist can easily be 20/20 by endgame while you're trying to get Elincia to Lv14. -------------------

Support Conversations and she's pretty hot (but that's just me and a few others). But yeah; pretty useless, unless you're looking for a challenge.

it really comes down to personal play styles, altho i agree that elincia comes in far too late to be useful. personally, i prefer mist over rhys, because being mounted, she is able to move in, heal, and move out again. rhys has higher magic, but his light magic is poor defense if you let a swordsman close enough to fight him.

Mist turns out decent by endgame, at least for every playthrough I had. I guess she requires quite a bit of babying, though.

The fact that she's mounted, and can move again after healing, is a tremendous boost to people like me, who use lots of magic units and whatnot. She can heal, move out, and someone like Soren or Ilyana can move in and attack a unit in front of the guy that just got healed.
