Hello. Would there be any [easy] way of enabling level select for sonic the hedgehog 3? Without the help of sonic the hedgehog three and knuckles and sonic the hedgehog 2 of course. Apparently I'm too slow at hitting up, up, down, down, up, up, up, and up after the Sega logo fades away and find it incredibly hard to do it correctly.

I have yet to be successful with entering the level select code for Sonic 3. Other than using the Game Genie the easiest way is to lock on Sonic and Knuckles.

My favourites would have to be:

1) Hydrocity#2
2) Ice Cap zone
3) Chrome Gadget in Competition mode
4) Death Egg final boss/ final boss of other
Levels

I think i managed the code once, but it's really tough to do. This game isn't so tough anyway, and after you do it you can choose any level you like.

Play it the "Sonic 3 + Knuckles" way and you can save up to 8 games. Use one for Hyper Sonic, one for Super Tails, and one for Hyper Knuckles. Or maybe even Tails following Hyper Sonic. Have the files CLEARED and choose your levels between the 3 characters with the SUPER Emeralds obtained.

That's the best way to do it!

Hello, I have a PSP, and I have it modded to play Genesis games, and I'm playing Sonic 3, but can't get the stupid level select code to work... Are you supposed to hit up,up,down,down,up,up,up,up on the drum beats, or in any order before the title screen comes up, or what? Or will this cheat just not work with an emulator, or even just the PSP itself? I probably won't get a response to this, but one can hope... Cheers...

This is a cheat I've never been able to do very well, with it only working a few times.

I suggest playing the game through. Once you complete it, you can chose any level you like at any time anyway.

I never managed to get the cheats to work on Sonic 3 or Sonic and knuckles, or the combination of the two.
I thought it was a fake cheat or something...
