PSO Forum and Game FAQ (GUESTS MUST READ) |
|
Q: I'm a newbie. What should I do?
A: If you're a guest, and plan to stay with Neoseeker for a bit, register. If you've just joined, welcome to Neoseeker and read here --> http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/faq.php about the forums first: Q: Hey, how do I get that picture under my name? Or what about that title under my name too? A: The Forum FAQ describes several things that you may do to your account, like add a signature at the end of a post, or put up a picture under your name. For a Title under your name, read the Forum FAQ. Q: How do I get some of the lesser rare items, like a Soul Eater, the Frying Pan, or the Dragon Slayer? A: Click --> http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/index.php?fn=view_thread&t=9807&hl_set=commonly+%26+frequently+asked+questions to be whisked to a thread regarding those rare items and other information. Q: What about the more rarer items, like the Chain Sawd, Orotiagito, or Lavis Cannon? A: Good luck finding a Lavis...Please read on about some gathered information. Q: I need a Serial Number and Access Code. Can anyone give them to me? A: Nope. PSO Serial Numbers and Access Codes are directly serialized to the Dreamcast registered to them. If you attempt to go onlline with Serial Number and Access Code already serialized to another Dreamcast, you'll be booted. Q: This !@#$%&* Gameshark user PK'ed me and stole my Twin Brand +99! Tell me what I can do to get back at them! A: Well, you're first going to be bombarded with people saying to play the game legitimately because you have a hacked weapon. Secondly, leave the matter alone. Try to get the same weapon stolen from you in a trade. Heck, even go ahead and make a game online with the team name bearing the weapon you want. Q: Sounds good, but I want a PK code-- A: No can do. We do not offer help on how to PK or give out Gameshark codes. Call us what you want, but we all are playing the game as its supposed to be: LEGITIMATELY. Q: Do I have to worry about Gameshark users in Version 2? A: Not really. Sonic Team and Sega are doing a fantastic job patching things up literally with preventing Gameshark use. Even if someone did go online with a GS, they'd be banned for a day. If they try to keep it up, it'll go on Sega's records, and eventually, they won't be able to play online anymore. Q: Sounds neat! Give me more Phantasy Star Online Version 2 info! A: You're in luck. Click here --> http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/index.php?fn=browse_forum&f=27&d=6457 to go to the Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 forums. It's not very active, as very few people have the import version from Japan, but give it a go. A few contributors are sharing their adventures. Q: Hey, I found out there'z a Knuckles Mag in Version 2! I'm so excited, I wanna yell this info off everywhere! [Mod Note: NO, there is no such thing as a Knuckles Mag. That was just an example] A: All info regarding a certain version of PSO, namely Version 1 or Version 2 should be posted in their appropriate forum. Q: I wanna have a chat with someone from here in this forum. A: If the subject is PSO related, we usually post the name of the person we want to talk to in the PSO forums. If it is not, post in the the Loungin' Forums. If the thread gets too chatty and/or off-topic (not PSO-related), the thread will close by one of the moderators, and the encouragement of continuing the conversation in the Loungin' forum will be enforced. Q: Whoa. What's Team NEO? A: We cordially invite you to join our Neoseeker clan, Team NEO. We usually just go on just to play a round of PSO, usually with our high level characters in Very Hard Mode Ruins. Well, that's just an example, but you get my drift. We currently have 2 seperate meets, one for those who live in the US and the other for those who live in the EU (Europe) area. As far as I know, both meets take place the same day (Saturday, currently). Feel free to join us, and have a job at Team NEO, like help low level or newbie characters, or raise a MAG, or even handle money problems (giving out money...in PSO, that is...). It all depends on what your profession is. Q: How do I know if a WEAPON is hacked? A: Hacked weapons have a photon ratio or grind limit that is absurdly large. In means of grinding, its + number (like Saber "+1") is over the limit. Hacked weapons usually have a +99 by their name or sometimes +255, their limit in PSO. Many rare items don't go beyond +9, so give it a look. But, what about photon ratio? That's the percentage in the weapon, like 60% on Dark. If a weapon has 60% on A. Beast, Machine, and Dark, you undoubtedly have a hacked weapon. Their grind number doesn't have to matter either. Q: What items are banned? What should I look out for? A: Only the Eggblaster, NEI'S CLAW, Priest/Mind--, and God/HP++ are banned. You can ACQUIRE the item online, but YOU CAN'T USE IT online. Sega will disconnect you, and you'll be forced to either return the item to your check room (bank) or sell the item. God/HP++ is an item to watch out for. This item is hacked so that while your character has a lot of HP, it goes over PSO's limit, and unequipping the item makes your HP go to 0. To get rid of the item, your only chance was at when you first acquired the item. Only then you should remove your VMU or turn off the power on your Dreamcast WITHOUT SAVING. If you still have the item on you, but never unequipped, your only chance of proper removal is transferring your character to PSO Version 2, but that'll take a while from now... Q: What are the most recent terms/slang used right now on PSO, like PK? A: Here ya go: PK: Player Kill-Your character is killed, as if your HP is reduced to 0. CK: Character Kill-Your character is killed...literally. You must start over from scratch. You've lost everything. VK: VMU Kill-Worst one of all, it kills your VMU. You are not only forced to start over, but buy a new VMU as well. This VK thing is questionable... BSOD: Black Screen of Death FSOD: Frozen Screen of Death RSOD: Red Screen of Death GSOD: Gltichy Screen of Death Freeze Mag: A Mag that freezes everyone's control when a certain Photon Blast in it is used. GS users are only able to unfreeze themselves...but maybe not you. Q: My question still isn't answered. A: Then post it here in this same thread! The following is gathered info gotten from the previous PSO Forum FAQ. What are the "sets" in the game? What do they do? The sets in PSO are rare items that boost ATP, DFP, and EVP when equipped together. There is usually 3 items: the weapon, the armor, and the shield/barrier. There is the Custom Set, the Delsaber set (it only consists of a shield and saber), and the DB's set. The deal is that equipping the items in the sets altogether increases your Attack, Defense, and Evasion. We had a quibble one time about the Delsaber set: unnotably that Attack power wasn't seen boosted. Here you see Lenia's character with the Delsaber Buster and Shield unequipped: ![]() See that the shield boosts Defense and Evasion. Now, here is the result with the Buster equipped: ![]() The Evasion is boosted by 100. Defense stays the same, btw. Note the ATP in the second image. ![]() Now, with both the Buster and Shield equipped, Evasion and Attack power is boosted (with Attack being unnotable). For all you hunters, What is the best Sword, Saber, and Partisan? The Lavis Cannon is the best saber. The Chain Sawd (not Sword, for a couple of you Neos out there) for Swords, and Soul Banish as the best Partisan. The Vyaja is the competitor to the Soul Banish as it seems to be a little more findable. Its Charge ability is more safer than the Soul Banish's special attack of reducing your HP to give a powerful attack. The Lavis Cannon and Soul Banish are incredibly rare, and is more commonly found in trades. The Chain Sawd can be found legitimately in the ADSL Easter Quest, a Japanese quest downloadable at http://www.booyaka.com. Log on to the site with your Dreamcast to download the quest. Don't delete the quest once you've finished it. You can get 2 other rare items in that very same quest. What Happens when you hit Level 100? Nothing really, other than you're the ultimate character in your class...hopefully, legitimately. Now start over with a new class! Is there any way to make rare enemies appear more often? Several sites on the internet say that Telepiping continously while the species of the rare enemy you want to appear makes it come out (Al Rappies with Rag Rappies; Nar Lilly with Poison Lilly). But not a lot of people have had luck... Can I save 2 characters to one VMU/Memory Card? Nope. We don't know why. Go out and buy another VMU or a 4X Memory card if you want another character. What are the elements of the spells? Foie, Gifoie, Rafoie: Fire Damage. Barta, Gibarta, Rabarta: Ice Damage Zonde, Gizonde, Razonde: Thunder/Lightning Damage. Shifta, Deband: Attack and Defense increasing spells. Jellen, Zalure: Attack and Defense decreasing spells. Grants: Holy Damage. Megid: Dark Damage; attempts one-hit kills. Ryuker: Makes a Telepipe Resta: Healing spell. Anti: Status-Removing spell. Reverser: Life-Restoring spell. How Often do Mags get hungry? Does it matter what items you give it? Mags should get hungry about every 2.5 beats, or 3 minutes and 35 seconds. It doesn't matter what foods you give it for a time difference. The evolution of the mag does not matter either. To Reset The Internal Memory of Your Dreamcast: Hold B + X on a controller hooked up to the B slot on the Dreamcast and turn on the Dreamcast. Release the buttons after the date/time prompt appears. And for those who use their VMU as a watch and carry them on their keychains (if any)... To Change Settings on Your VMU (most notably the Time): Turn on the VMU, then press MODE until you reach the Clock icon. Press A to see the time, then hold Left + A at the time display screen to start the process of entering a new date and time. Note: The time is entered in 24 hour military format. Press Up or Down to change the animated display when prompted. Where's the beef? Uh... It's used in Gamesharks. It's used to reduce the GS'er's TP to a negative number, as far as -32,000. While it can be found legitimately (strange, really), it's quite lame just to raise your MST by 1.

What about the Eggblaster and Nei's Claw. I swear that when I first got the game those weapons weren't ban. I think I may have even owned an Eggblaster on one of my early characters. What's up with them?

As soon as I got to become a Neo myself, I have no idea what the Eggblaster or NEI'S CLAW was nor why they were banned.
The Eggblaster is a novelty item from Sonic Adventure. It's a handgun, and any class should use it, but I think I've heard around it's just as good as a VARISTA or something. As for the NEI'S CLAW, the only thing about it is that females could only use it because Nei, the newman from Phantasy Star II must've exclusively used a Claw.

ugh... *trying to remember all of what was writen*
1. you forgot the flowens set reenee! Flowens Sword Flowens Shield Flowens Armor 2. Priest/Mind -- is only banned if its altered it applies to any ????/Mind -- unit that is altered. I.E. Priest/Mind -- adds 3 to mst an altered P/M -- adds -11205 *its variable if you have the unaltered version dont worry about it if you have the altered version ditch it offline 3. The Eggblaster has as much effect as a varista maybe even a custom ray. it deals fire damage and was set to be a giveaway item. due to it being massly distributed and abused sonic team pulled the plug on that item and banned it. the nei's claw is said to be the same way. even the sonic knuckles were banned for a while. *I have no idea what the story on them is now* quoteTrue it doesn't really matter no food will satisfy a mag for an entire game although if there was one I'd sure like to know. hehe quoteactually The 2nd and 3rd evolutions matter for the photon blast its very essential if your a newbie raising a mag. dont just go for what looks cool for those evo's it'll come back to haunt you later. anything following that is just for looks. nope still had editing to do ;-_- This message was edited by VegitaX2 on Oct 19 2001. ------------------- ![]()

I'm pretty sure you can't get on the net without the internet cd. I'm sure you can buy another one at a store like Best Buy or Electronics Boutique.
