---------- Nintendo Considers Movie Business Yamauchi is talking again. September 29, 2004 - Former crazed Nintendo emperor Hiroshi Yamauchi is throwing out wild ideas again. At a press conference held in Nintendo's home town of Kyoto, Yamauchi revealed his desire to get Nintendo started in the production of theatrical animated films. Yamauchi plans to propose this idea at a company management meeting in October. Commenting on his newest plan, Yamauchi said at the press conference, "I'd like to produce works that are not just for Japan but can be used overseas as well. Game software and the creation of movies are close to one another. It will be decided at the management meeting, but we should go off in this field." Unconfirmed reports indicate that he finished off with five minutes of hysterical laughter. Those hoping for a Mario or Zelda animated theatrical film shouldn't get your hopes up too high, as Yamauchi seems to have different things in mind. Yamauchi revealed that he imagines animated projects based off the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu, a collection of Japanese poems from between the 7th and 13th centuries. Yamauchi is the president of the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu Project foundation, whose goal is to promote interest in the classic works. October is an important month for movies in Japan as Tokyo holds its annual film festival. Perhaps we'll be hearing something from Nintendo at that time. ---------- ------------------- Wild World Wiki|Last.fm | |

Two titles coming out that I think are going to be great. For those who have a GC, and love RPGs you probably have played Tales of Symphonia. Well you may know there was a NES game in the series that was also acclaimed it is supposed to be coming out in March.
Also for those already addicted there is a Sudoku game coming out this Spring. Final Fantasy V and VI are being ported to the GBA with all new features, much like the recent release of Final Fantasy IV Advance.
Quote RPGFan News --------------------------------- Square Enix Bringing Final Fantasy V and VI To The Game Boy Advance 10.05.05 - 2:43 PM Square Enix has announced that they will be bringing Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI to the Game Boy Advance in 2006. The GBA versions of these titles will be improved, just like the conversion of Final Fantasy IV, announced earlier this year. Square Enix President Youichi Wada also addressed the development of Final Fantasy III for the Nintendo DS. Instead of being a simple clean-up of the original's Famicom-style graphics, Square Enix are making the characters and environments fully 3D. Hiromichi Tanaka, producer of the title, says that to keep the vibe of the original title intact, developers from the original title have been brought onboard for the remake. Unfortunately, Wada did not address the upcoming Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles release for the DS. Keep your ear to the ground here at RPGFan for more information when it becomes available. ------------------------- The profiles for the two games are also up on Neoseeker. March 9, 2006 - Though it definitely seems like 2006 is the year of the DS at Nintendo, the Game Boy Advance won't be getting the shaft at least in its entirety. We've learned that Nintendo of America is readying its Player's Choice line of "greatest hits" games for a lower pricepoint on the GBA front, with three games ready to premiere the line next month. Player's Choice is the moniker for hugely selling classics in the Nintendo library, reissued for a cheaper price. The line goes way back to the days of the Super NES, Game Boy classic, and Nintendo 64, and the company has continued it on the GameCube. Starting April 2nd, the series will make its debut on the Game Boy Advance. Three games in the company's library will go Player's Choice on this day: Super Mario Advance: Super Mario Bros. 2, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. Each of these three games will be repackaged in a new Player's Choice box and priced at a MSRP of 19.99. ![]() ![]() More titles will be announced to join this series. Stay tuned. Thank god. It took them long enough. And they made some good choices, although they are too Mario-biased. ------------------- R.I.P. Alexis "The Explosive Thin Man" Arguello 1952-2009 R.I.P. Wow, so they are finally adding a greatest hits series to the GBA. Isn't this the first time this has been done to a portable system? Also, it sort of stinks that I have all three of those games. I know the box's will have the big "Player's Choice" on it, but will the game cartridge look any different?
