Tonight I take a look at the R4890 Cyclone, by MSI:

Notes: Tomorrow I'll be reviewing a HD 5870. Next week I'm headed to a Nvidia GPU conference. When I get back, I have 3D glasses to check out (I'm so stoked) and then I'm going to update the benchmarks and redo many of them. anyway, for 200 bucks, i dont think its worth it, especially when its compared to the overclocked HIS HD4890 with a core clock of 965 mhz, and (if i recall correctly) 202 dollars after rebate. still, this card would make for a great eye pleaser if you have an acrylic see through case or a case with a good side window.

Hehe well it's a double edge sword I guess. Back before this job when I had made due with video cards around $100-$150 mostly, I would have flipped to have my hands on the crazy high end cards. But now with working with them all so much I'm like 'another GTX 285? Mehh..'

As for the 4890's , apparently it is the only 4800 series cards that have not been canceled with the release of the 5800 series. This Cyclone was good but there are certainly many cards out there...
