The HD 5750 and HD 5770 are here. Now starts the era of affordable DX11 gaming cards

Yay more low end cards.

Good review.

How much of a performance boost did that 5770 give you after being overclocked?

About 10%. I'm looking forward to trying HD 5770 x2

Not bad, though I was expecting some better performance. A bit surprised that it didn't do as well as the 4870 (though it used less power, and produced less heat).

Good price though, it would make for a nice Entry Level DX11 gaming GPU.

re: HD 5750 & HD 5770 launch review

Market segments sure are getting blurry. The 5750 is somewhat better than the 4850 and worse than the comparably-priced 4870 512 MB with current games from what I can gather. In fact, the 4870 512MB isn't that far behind the 5770, and the 1GB seems to be, again, similarly-priced with similar performance.

I'm just not sure where these cards fit in, or whether they will age better. Right now it just looks like a redundant card.

Well, new drivers should improve it somewhat, and the benefits are more in the DX11 feature set, than anything else it seems.
