New Mobo |
|
I'm looking for a new mobo, I'll most likely be getting a Radeon X1800XT and because of that I'll need to upgrade to a PCI-E mobo.
I'd really like to get buy without spending too much money on the mobo since obviously the card is going to cost a fortune to begin with. Here are the ones I found... 1 2 3 So yeah I'd really like to just go with the 69 dollar one but will it do me just fine or is there something that may hold me back in the long run? Or is there even a BETTER and maybe even cheaper and better mobo out there for me. Thanks. Oh... and I just realized, what's the difference between ATX and Micro ATX and should I worry about it?

That won't be a problem for me.
Is Nforce4 better or something than the alternative? If so why? How big of a PSU might i need to power an X1800XT and all? This message was edited by Alias353 on Dec 10 2005.

I suggest taking a look at this DFI board Link, if you need Sata 2 then I suggest the next step up Link(or DFI Street Forums features a NF4 mod guide to unlock Sata 2 and SLI). As far as power supplies go some people have recommended PSU that has a 20A+ 12v rail PSU to cover the power draw of the x1800 series. Im currently happy with the 520wt OCZ Power Stream with 33A on the 12v rail, my x1800xl chuggs along smoothly as my rails barely/never flex under load.
