I THINK ITS OFF THE CHIAN

there are only two possible opinions about Shenmue...

you either loved the game so much, it became part of your everyday life, u couldn't stop thinking about it, and you couldn't live without it.

or, you hated Shenmue, didn't like waiting around and being patient for events and scenes to occur, and would never play it twice.

for me, mine is the first option ;)

mine is.. the first option.. i completly love Shenmue.. and its Story Yu Suzuki is a very good game designer.. well he really rights the story's..

he must have been really inspired to have created such an indepth storyline and paid so much close attention to character and environmental detail. you could interact with every single character in the game, and almost every character had a different personality to them.

Yer and in other games the grapics would be bad and the story would be pants, also you wouldnt be able to interact with anyone..

Shenmue has gotta be the best game EVER made you neither like it or you hate it..

alot of people have compared the attention to detail in Shenmue to the Metal Gear Solid game. i'll have to try it out and see for myself.

I have that game and the graphics are okay but not as good as Shenmue's

it's not about the graphics Yako....it's about the attention to important details, like sound and movement.

but since i haven't played the game yet, i don't know what metal gear solid is like compared to Shenmue.

does anyone else have any input on this topic?

Well Metal Gear is a good game for sure.. but far not as good as Shenmue.. the sounds are good, and the graphics and the game play is okay aswell.. overall i would rate:

Metal Gear Solid:- 9/10
Shenmue:- 10/10
Shenmue II:- 10/10

For storyline and vastly better characters, I love Shenmue II, but for the experience of reality in a tangible area of Japan, under an ever-changing sky, it will always be Shenmue I for me.

I hate when people do this.

Who cares about the graphics? I don't. Graphics mean nothing graphics are just to make a game look good, but that does not mean it is good. now shenmue is awesome, I'll admit that the graphics are good, but we should not judge games by the graphics. Story and gameplay is the best part and the only part that should be judged </rant>

I absolutely loved shenmue 1+2. The only other game that hooked me like this was FFVII.

I just wish they'd finish off the series with a third, cos the second had a terrible ending, you felt half way through the adventure........Damn sega

I think... its one of the greatest stories told in game format EVER... its pure art!
