A long time ago, my computer always used to crash during the attempted assassination FMV scene. I added 1GB ram, and this solved the problem nicely. Never had another problem until now. It works great.
Now, as the two are drifting through space and JUUUST about to board the ragnarok, it crashes. I sent my save file to someone online, but theirs crashed there too. I've read about a couple other folks with the same problem. They were able to send someone their save file, and they passed that point, boarded the ragnarok, saved it, and sent the file back.
Would someone out there be willing to help me?

If you PM'd me a link to the Final Fantasy 8 rom along with your save file, I could try and help you out.

A link to the rom? You mean a torrent or something for the IMG or ISO files needed for burning it?

Ohh.. sorry. I thought you were playing it using an emulator like EPSXE on your pc.. I forgot it was for PC.

If I had the game for pc, then I'd help you out.. unfortunately, I don't, sorry!

Reviving the topic. I seem to have similar problem. I have PC version of FF8 and I'm getting a crash after defeating aliens on Ragnarok. Game crashes when I try to enter elevator. I think this is a problem with the movies (Just read there were supposed to be some at GameFAQs). I uploaded my save file here: http://pokory.webpark.pl/save16 If any would be so nice and pass the scenes and save at the next point (save17 would be nice x) ) I would be really grateful for the help.

If the FMV is freezing just take the disc out when the FMV starts, when you put it back in the FMV will have skipped.
