Lol have you ever fought Griever and ALWAYS kept dying?Lol your not alone I had to get a FF8 Guide just to pwn him.That nice fella' always cast pain on every character what a CHEAP TRICK!!
Lol and EVEN when i got the guide i still lost after ALL of that training got pointless lol so i did a little sneaky thing....I had to sneak in a Gameshark (I know im bad lol)and make all my status go up and pwn that bitch just to see his face be like this lol.

Training is pointless at any point in the game, since every enemy (excepting the WEAPONs and Ifrit) has a level equal to the average of the 3 you are using (it'll probably be the average of all 7 characters for Ultimecia and Griever though since it's random who'll get chosen and then they get replaces when killed so...).

I had trouble with him on my first playthrough too, although every character I had was high 80s - 100 (so it was my own fault and I hadn't even realised it ) but none of them had ultimate weapons, so I went to Ragnarok and played TT til I had all the materials. Could never get Irvine's since I never got a moon stone from those damn Trauma's in the castle, and I was drop farming them for hours at a time.

It is if you don't want to make the game harder.

Whatever you do, level up or not, junction magics still makes this game way too easy...:/ In the beginning and in the whole first disc it is fun because your character doese'nt usually have good powahs. First disc is also the best one in my opinion. So next time I play this, I only fight against boss enemies and of course against enemies that I need to uprage better weapons.

Griever is probably the hardest boss on the game..
I had every single friggin' GF, all with Boost, everyone with 9999HP & 999 Ultimas, 999 Regens, and I still can't beat that little git

And now it's hopeless that I'll ever beat him, seeing as now I can't even FIGHT him cuz I accidently overwrote my save with my m8's

Overwriting save games unintentionally really sucks...

As for Griever, we guess it was just like Lone said, one Limit Break from Squall. But we can't remember for sure, as it has been a long long time ago that we beat him. It just didn't leave a lasting impression so it cannot have been that hard. Then again, we always take our first playthrough as the ideal playthrough anyway so we were pretty maxed out on junctions and weapons and stuff so it is not that surprising it was too easy.

Meltdown + Aura + Lionheart = easy win.

Join the club, andrew... I can't even get to Disk 4 because my Disk 3 is buggered.
