Misery

Misery, by Stephen King.

Just finished the book, and thought it was excellent. The first book I've read which actually managed to give me goosebumps. Thoughts?

re: Misery

Haven't read it but I've seen the film. How different is it from the film? I plan on reading it so try not to give too much away. Reading The Shining at the moment.

re: Misery

Very different from th film. While the film is creepy, its nothing compared to the book, plus, a lot of censorship has been done. For example,

In the movie, Annie just breaks Pauls foot with a hammer, but in the book, she chops of his foot as well as a thumb.

re: Misery

I've seen the film too, I've actually see quite a few King adaptations and I've liked them all, but I've never really wanted to read the books. I suppose if you have seen the film it slightly spoils it. And reading a book takes a lot more time, if you know what's going to happen it's sometimes not worth it.

re: Misery

The novel was frighteningly good, and failed to bore me. Stephen King did a wonderful job with this book.
