re: Favorite book(s) of all time...

Ive got a lot and if you asked to pick a favorite book I would tell you the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan just to confuse you. It is my favorite, but not a book. Behind it is closely followed by the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman, and The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper, all excellent books if not all on the exact same reading level.:D

I LOVED Shade's Children by Garth Nix. It was exciting all the way through (IMO) and added some very intersting elements.

My favorite book of all time is Ella Enchanted, the movie of it came out not so long ago (I read it before I know they were making a movie of it). It has a really good story, its kinda funny, has great people in it. So I think its the best

My favorite book so far has been the Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and I really enjoyed The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. My favorite series are Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Dragonlance.

Hmmm. My best is most definitely Night Watch, i can give you two A4 pages of reasons, but i'm not going to. Beyond that it's very tough, but i will give Hitchhiker's GFuide a special mention for being my favourite for a number of years.

re: Favorite book(s) of all time...

I could talk about Douglas Adams (great), Orson Scott Card(awesome), William King (excellent), Tolkien (extraordinary), to name just a few. But really, the only book for me is, "Zero: Biography of a Dangerous Idea" by Charles Seife. It's an entire book about the number zero. Yet somehow it never gets boring, i've sat through some really boring books and still enjoyed them, but i didn't have to. This book is almost a tutorial in mathmatical theory, and i loved every minute of its informative goodness.

Out of all the great books I've read, the four which I choose as my favorites aren't even that hard of a reading level. They are My Side of the Mountain, The Hatchet, The Transal Saga, and The River. The later three are by Gary Paulsen (Sp?).

Bitten, Stolen, Dime Store Magic, Industrial Magic and e-book Beginnings by Kelley Armstrong. (Clayton and Elena 4 eva)
and ALL books by Stephen King, Especially Dreamcatcher
I like Kelley Armstrong's books because she writes loads of description about her characters and their surroundings. (And Clayton's attitude) The way she describes the Change from Human to Wolf, the way they interact as Wolves and the way it differs from when they are human.

J.K Rowling - Harry Potter books 4 and 5 were particularly good.

James Herbert - Domain, This was great, gory emotional and atmospheric, but, most of all, believeable.

Ben Elton - Stark. Should have made this into a film, not Inconceviable. Absolutely fantastic characters, very funny, and if you don't feel for CD towards the end, you are probably dead.

re: Favorite book(s) of all time...

This thread needs reviving. My favorite book of all time is probably "A Stranger Is Watching" by Mary Higgins Clark. I think it's really good. The first time I read it, I couldn't put it down because it was so suspenseful and intriguing. I couldn't wait to find out what happened.
