Come to think of it, it was. As were insect Transformers.

It's been over two months since someone posted here.
I was just wondering if someone was going to get around to updating the New Releases, I'd like to know what's upcoming. Blame that on me. I've been busy with...err...yes, I know it's sad. FFXI. I'll try to get that done tonight when I get off of work, I'm about to leave now. Very sorry for the delay, guys. This message was edited by Whitecloak(moderator) on Aug 03 2004.

My first week of student teaching has come and gone; the first three days were murder. This really isn't much surprise as the first two were each filled with three or four 90 minute faculty meetings, and I spent the third day unpacking and numbering cases of textbooks. Inservice days in any school system can suck tremendously very easily. The good news is that I'm teaching an 11th grade English class which is basically American Literature and persuasive writing. The literature textbook is the same one that I had as a sophomore back in the 1995-1996 school year.

I can imagine student teaching could suck a bit, but it can't be all bad. There's got to be some joy in teaching, otherwise there would be no teachers right?
Anyway, looking forward to book list.

Usually, but you have to remind yourself about the joy of teaching when it comes time to grade essays. Let's just say that I have my work cut out for me. I'll be happier when we get past the colonial writings and are into some of the works by the likes of Hawthorne, Poe, etc.

Of course, that's the interesting stuff. I suppose it can't all be fun.

Can't believe this thread has been stuck on the same page for over half a year...
Anyway, I'm thinking about picking up Jon Stewart's new book and wondered if any of you have read it.

It has probably been slow in this thread because you, Whitey, myself, and all the other regulars haven't been overly active in the forum.
Nice custom title, Wo. I haven't read Stewart's book yet either (but am interested) and wouldn't mind getting a recommendation for or against it. ------------------- quote SlackerBooks&Lit Comics Transformers: The Movie Gundam Collectibles

Thanks Mac, wish I could take credit for the custom title, but I stole it from one of KngAlaric's incredibly humorous posts.
BTW - Who is that Whitey guy you talk about?

Figures that would be something Alaric would come up with. I'd love to see the post in order to catch the context.
Whitey? Who's that? I never mentioned a Whitey. Must be a figment of your imagination. But seriously, in regards to Whitey it's either a case of him working hard or hardly working unless Angelus and bl3nd3r haven't abducted him. ------------------- quote SlackerBooks&Lit Comics Transformers: The Movie Gundam Collectibles

Niiiice. Wal-Mart will ban almost anything though (especially if it criticizes Wal-Mart). Except guns (at least the ones I frequent).
Anyway, tracking down Stewart's book is going to have to go on the back burner for me since I'm currently involved with Brown's The DaVinci Code and Carlin's hilarious Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?. ------------------- quote SlackerBooks&Lit Comics Transformers: The Movie Gundam Collectibles

WHITEY, we need some dancing girls around here, or something. This General Discussion thread and been on the same page for an entire year now. Are you still alive? I see you log-on every few weeks or so, what's up?

When you manage to log-in and stop being lazy, I demand you update the new releases.
Does anyone know if the idea for a book section of the site ever make any headway, or was it just dropped?
