re: Books & Lit General Discussion Mk II

I figure I learned a lesson the last time there was an attempt to "revive" the forum. If people want to talk about books, they'll find us; it's not really about attracting users.

I went to the Barnes & Noble on Monday. They had these classic authors series books and I picked up a couple. They contain generally 4-7 complete and unabridged stories from authors like Oscar Wild and Jane Austen. They were pretty cheap as well. People should check it out if they get the chance.

re: Books & Lit General Discussion Mk II

Does anybody here read Sidney Sheldon books by any chance ? I'm about to begin reading; 'Are you afraid of the dark ?' and I would like to know whether this would be an enthrilling, engaging read or should I drop it now ? I heard he's a great author and is brilliant at create suspense amongst his readers, just looking for a second opinion tbh =]

Well, this forum is rapidly moving towards its demise. We've got threads in which the last post was made a month ago, on the first page.

This forum will never die, there'll always be a trickle of activity, propelled forward now and then by release of books like Harry Potter xD

Read more books and discuss 'em then.

What is the current policy for posting in old threads?

I think the policy's the same as ever, better to revive an old thread, if you can find it in the index than start a new one.

Yes. It's fine to bump old threads as long as you are adding to the discussion and not just posting to post.

re: General Discussion/Forum Feedback & Announcements

Besides, renewed interest in an older thread could get people looking into topics mentioned in said thread leading to renewed interest in some other stuff.

re: General Discussion/Forum Feedback & Announcements

Hi, I've never really posted in this forum before, but recently I've rediscovered a love I had for reading! I've ordered a few books from amazon. I like fantasy/sci-fi books so I have decided to try a few of the well-known series out there such as The Sword of Truth, Wheel of Time and A Song of Ice and Fire. Hopefully they will be good.

Revival.

I'm surprised by the small number of visitors here, has there been action taken to help this?

re: Books & Lit General Discussion Mk II

Problem is that there are so many books that there's a pretty small overlap over which one's people have read. I've been reading a lot of Stephen King and Philip K. Dick lately, but the next book I plan to read will probably be Tokyo Cancelled. I went to the library earlier and had a quick look for some Arthur C. Clarke stuff, but nothing.
