So 'cloak, how's it feel being that Whitecloak as opposed to some other Whitecloak?
Anywho, I'll be starting on the WoT prequel tonight and be sharing thoughts without spoilers sometime this weekend. Anyone heard of or read books featuring the Spider? He's an interesting character from the era of the pulps and predates the Shadow. ------------------- quote SlackerBooks&Lit Comics Transformers: The Movie Gundam Collectibles

Ahh, yes. My mind is failing me in my wise old age.
Well, I'm pretty used to being coined "that guy," so I suppose "that Whitecloak" isn't anything new. It sounded like I was being referred to as some sort of environmental phenomenon, like Bigfoot. Or Brittany Spears.

Or maybe an abnormal freak of nature?
Anywho, the Spider that I previously mentioned originated in the pulps and was written by Grant Stockbridge. Pulp magazines are where Howard's Conan and Lovecraft's Cthulu started out. ------------------- quote SlackerBooks&Lit Comics Transformers: The Movie Gundam Collectibles

One thing I've been wandering: what happened to the old regulars? Where have GMW, Tempest, and the others been?

Well as for me personally I had no internet for about 4 months. Though I have been wondering (not wandering) were the others were as well. Though perhaps they just got bored. Seems most of the conversations are the same ones that were here before I lost contact.

That's the problem with conversations. You have to have at least two people to have one. And in this forum that requires familiarity with the material. There is a lot of things out there to read, and it seems we only overlap on a very few things.

Am I considered an old regular? ^^
Well ... GMW hasn't been online much I don't think. I haven't heard from him in a couple of weeks, and we always talk via PM. He keeps switching accounts too. I think he's using Prolife at the moment. As for me not being here ... I am, I just don't post unless there's something worthwhile to post about. ^^; --đιvιиє² -------------------

quote Mister MacPhistoMe and your mom were overlappin' last night. But you are correct, sah. That's why you guys need to read more. The more stuff you read, the more we overlap, the more stuff we have to talk about, the busier the forum gets as we talk about the stuff we have to talk about, the more people that join in on discussions and start readin', and the cycle continues like the Wheel of Time, beeyotch.

Maybe you should read more yourself, Whitey, or should I say Dad?

Well it doesn't do any good for people to read more if they don't start a thread about it or no one else reads it.

I've been reading more lately, but it's been more of the same. By same I mean, I've been reading more books by Roger Zelazny, Robert Jordan, Greg Rucka, and some of my other favorite authors.
I did reread Betancourt's Dawn of Amber which is the first in a prequel series to Zelazny's Amber Chronicles. Good book, and I look forward to seeing where the series goes. ------------------- quote SlackerBooks&Lit Comics Transformers: The Movie Gundam Collectibles
