!Song Help Thread! |
|
post all your questions about songs here.
I need help with Rythm and Police on heavy. The begining confuses the hell out of me. i need to learn how to do it without using the same foot twice in a row. I can usually answer your questions on Standerd mode. ------------------- It's hard to keep my sarcastic comments to myself with you being such a dumbass.

The song isn't all that bad but the key thing is to shift your whole body to flow with the arrows. I personally don't know how to PA that intro any other way. Trying to stay in the center and hit all the arrows will only result in misses. you have to flow with the pad. Many KOG 3 Remix songs are like this.

i don't think anybody would need really help on a song, it mroe like practice. thats really all you need to be a good DDRer.If you get stuck on a song just keep playing it until you can. ------------------- ![]()

The double arrows, let's say you have 2 down, 2 left, 2 right.....the trick is that they're not exactly doubles. They're 1/8th beats that cascade very close to each other. The *correct* way to hit the double arrows described above is:
1 down, 1 down~1 left, 1 left~1 right, 1 right. The best way to track this damn-confusing mess of arrows is to go into the training, put it on Heavy, and set the assist so that you can hear the TRACK and the HANDCLAP. Listen to the odd 'horseclaps' of the cascade. That's the best way to hit it. ------------------- Winter has returned to Neo. 8/2007.

I think I'm getting the hang of gallop steps. I did Rhythm and Police yesterday and got a B on it, when normally I fail. 'Tis a good thing

what i did to be able to pass that part is what he said, gallop steps, a good song to practice gallop steps is Matsuri Japan on Heavy. hard song but lots of fun. great show off song if you can master it too. i just did it at the mall yesterday with a couple of hand slams and knee bangs, In the back i heard some ooos and ahhhs it was pretty cool, even though i dont consider myself the type that just goes in there to show off. ddr came naturally to me so when i started on the easy stuff, i was like "this is way too easy" and i worked my way up from there

LOL....I hear ya, man.
Odd question for you guys: I've never actually seen an arcade machine in person...what's this I hear about 'a bar'...is there a metal bar you lean on, or something? ------------------- Winter has returned to Neo. 8/2007.

Hey guys, my shipment of two pads and Max game came in today, so I'm finally in the mix!
WintermutePrime, the bar you speak of is located a little behind you in the machine. It is mainly there ofr beginners who have trouble keeping balance, it can also be helpfull for pros when playing fast songs like Max 300, Max Unlimited, or Legend Of Max A lot of people think it is cool to do freestyle moves, one played out move is called bar hopping, where sometimes before a song starts they start behind the bar and then pro themselves over it to hit the arrows, some pros can jump off and jump back on this way.

there a song worst than max300.....i want no peice of it.....but that bar does exist. it is sort of a rest stand in a way, too. if you know you can't handle a song such as max300 (god know why anyone would try that on the arcade machine anyways) it helps keep your balance cause people ,yes even pros, can get hurt while using the machine just by tripping on a fairly easy step. the bar is used to mainain the players balance in such cases.

I don't understand why people keep complaining about arcade machines being harder, I play more DDR at arcades than at home but that is because my friend gets me free credits there.
DDR at the arcade is almost the exact same, except for the difficulty is almost always medium, I keep mine a few notches above just to make myself a little more prepared and improves playing performance. No difference, except your shoes clanging on the metal wear your stamina down so you don't play that long as usual.

It's true the arcade is no different it's just a bit more accurate depending on your machine. Many of the early players said it was easier at home because the circutry of the pad allowed them to mush corners between the arrows to hit either arrow to save their butts. Generally this is corrected to an extent in new pads.
From the DX-Xtreme to the arcade I barely notice anything minus that stamina issue that Mikepavy brought up. It hits in variable levels depending on your play style. ------------------- ![]()

I find it better to play in an arcade. I don't really like to play at home, because of 1. my mat slides around, and 2. I find it easier to get perfects at the arcade. ¬_¬ Cept' on healing vision angelic, 290 greats.

quote starguylvl78I'll give you this much. You are much better than I am and use double stick tape on it.....unless you have carpeting in which case stick to the arcades. ------------------- Sanity is just a passing fad, like Justin Timberlake's solo career

I used to have these white sticky things that came with my pad, but they lost their sticky-ness. Anyone know where I can get more? They were my best friend. *sniffle*
Really, or if anyone has them, and doesn't want them, I'd gladly take them. ------------------- It's hard to keep my sarcastic comments to myself with you being such a dumbass.
