Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition - Not updating code |
|
Hey, I have a question regarding Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition. I am using it to write C++ in and then I’m debugging and running the basic programmes. However I have a problem. I’ll give you an example to explain it easier. I was writing some code to test out basic data types such as bool, I was mucking around with it just tweaking the code to get different results to give myself a feel for it, then I decided to get rid of the code and output the word “Hello”. After I did that and tested it, it worked, so I deleted the code and started on data types, however as soon as I debugged and it run, it ran my old code from before which I got rid of and said “Hello”. This keeps happening for different things and it’s very frustrating and annoying as I have to shut down the programme and start again. Any idea what is wrong?

Are you sure you were saving before building?

It doesn't ask me to save I just go on start without debug and it runs. I tried saving and no luck.

quote overKillTbh, the forum is pretty much dead. And having only one thread for all C++ related questions is just going to kill it more. Anyways, I think I have had your program before, but I am not completely sure. Try running your code without the debugging mode, and see what happens. -------------------

At as guess, it sounds like there are errors in your code so it cannot build and run it and therefore runs the last successful build.
Dunno. But I know with my settings that when it errors on a compile it asks me if I want to run the last successful build.

I found what was wrong, when ever their was an error in the code it would revert back to how it was before the error. Cheers for all the help guys.
