I think you can save the frames in Photoshop, but you have to open them in ImageReady to save it as an animation. I think that's how it goes anyway, otherwise I downloaded GIMP* for nothing.

"Abstract desktop wallpapers" is a very broad subject here are some google results though:
http://www.t-tutorials.com/read-tutorials/42/making-abstract-wallpaper http://www.ndesign-studio.com/resources/tutorials/abstract-background/ http://www.pixelapex.net/abstract_tutorial.html http://rune-cow.t2po.com/showthread.php?t=92 If you use gimp, just google abstract wallpaper tutorial for gimp. Generally when you request a tutorial, you ask the person who already made something, to translate it into a tutorial for you, not just make a vague request. You can also always use other peoples wallpapers as well, there are hundreds of sites with some really badass wallpapers. Also, fractals make great abstract wallpapers. -------------------

quote nikkaiA quick google search turned up lots of sites which you can use. Heres one example: [link] However, they are sized 100x100, but you could easily ask someone to resize your image in the Image Resizing Thread, alternatively, you could supply a picture through google image search and ask for a graphic artist to make you an avatar in the Graphics Requests Thread. I don't quite understand what you mean by forum signs? -------------------

re: Forum Feedback and Tutorial Requests |

Hi there folks, hope you don't feel neglected by the forum updates going on around the other forums but it's time Tips and Tutorials got some TLC.
In the next week or so the Tutorial Indexes will be updated. However, I've also decided that something needs to be done about the layout of the forum and specifically the titles of the threads. Currently a lot of people are appending "[Photoshop] or "FOR GIMP" to their thread titles. This is of course really helpful for people looking for a tutorial for their program of choice. However, at the moment there's no uniformity in these "Program Tags". What I'm proposing is that we remove any indication of the program from the title and instead, one of us mods adds the "Program Tag" to the thread caption. Further to this I'm considering creating some guidelines as to creating and titling new tutorials. ASCII art in thread titles isn't really necessary and generally makes the place look messier. So... what do you think? -------------------

I like the idea. Often when I look at some tutorials I made with the title of '[Photoshop]', it looks a bit messy. If it was under the thread title in small text, it would look well neater. And a 'New' tutorial in red writing maybe would be good too. Tougher jobs for the moderators though I feel.

Thanks for the reply Eric. The problem with a "NEW" tag is that I feel it would require a fair deal of maintenance and the advantage of having these tutorials in a forum is that the information for when the thread was created is clearly visible to those skimming through the forum.
Seeing as there have been no objections I figured I'd rustle up some quick markup for the Program Tags using the first Photoshop and GIMP tuts at the top of the forum list. The plan would be to keep all the Photoshop and GIMP tuts the same colour but obviously changing the version tag depending on which version it was written for. (not really applicable for GIMP). I toyed wih the idea of a brown colour for GIMP (i.e. like the logo) but it looked pretty nasty and there's not really a colour for Photoshop anyway. Feedback before I roll this out for all your tuts? -------------------

Great idea dave, it gives the forum a much more organized look. Anyway's, I would suggest making photoshop blue, seeing as that's the color i think off when i see Photoshop.
~Bling. PS: Update the banner tutorials index maybe? ------------------- 01000001 01101100 01101100 01100001 01101000 00100111 01110101 00100000 01000001 01101011 01100010 01100001 01110010

re: Forum Feedback and Tutorial Requests |

I tried out a navy blue but it looked too similar to the blue of the thread titles so I went with green instead, it's still vaguely a photoshop kind of colour.
As you've all seen by now I've applied the "Program Tags" to the whole of the first page. Personally I think they look just right but for some of the threads I had to guess exactly what program/version the tuts are for. I'm more than happy to include a range of programs/versions in the caption if you're one of these people who hoards their tuts in one thread. Just drop me a PM if you want your caption adjusted. -------------------

Just one problem Dave.
It has under my tutorials [7.0], I did them on CS2 and CS3. ------------------- ![]() I'll be wallowing in sorrow, wearing a frown, like Pierrot the clown.

re: Forum Feedback and Tutorial Requests |

Sorry I should have clarified. The "program tag" is intended to let people know the program they should be using to follow the tutorial. The version part specifies the minimum version that someone needs in order to get the right outcome.
As far as I could tell, for all of your tuts there was no need for CS, CS2 or CS3 to be used. All of the functions you performed are perfectly capable in PS7. Correct me if I'm wrong. -------------------

Yeah, you're probably right. Though photo filtering and stuff in one of my tutorials and other 'Filter' settings aren't in 7.0, but I'm sure there are ways around that.
